DIRECT OCEANFRONT Condo With Great Views and Large Balcony

Beautiful oceanfront condo on Hutchinson Island in Stuart Florida, fully renovated in 2017 and subsequently updated with repainting in the living room and kitchen, professionally refinished kitchen cabinets, new patio furniture, and more artwork. We also hired a new cleaning service in June 2023 and they've done a great job in bringing our condo back to level of cleanliness that we demand and you expect.

Watch the ocean from the entire open plan living room/kitchen area as well as the primary bedroom facing the ocean. The deep, over-sized balcony provides a comfortable setting for outdoor living. The living room has a large leather sectional couch with power recliners on each end and next to it is a nice recliner. Granite counter-tops and modern appliances in the kitchen. Living room TV has a 65" Samsung 4K Smart TV, with Xfinity cable programming with 140 channels. 40" HDTV in each bedroom as well. High speed wireless internet (75+Mb). Premium memory foam mattresses on all beds as of June 2019. Both sets of sliding doors were replaced with hurricane-rated versions in 2018. Two electric twin air-mattresses with pillows and bedding are provided, along with a pack and play for families with small children. A beach box on the balcony contains beach chairs, an umbrella and assorted beach toys.

The Pelican Building is located within the beautiful Indian River Plantation resort and is convenient to Downtown Stuart and Jensen Beach. Due to building height restrictions, the beaches are less crowded than the surrounding areas. The Marriott Sandpiper Tiki Bar is located within an easy stroll for a cocktail or lunch, but far enough away to be unobtrusive. Our pool is located on the north side of our building (close but out of sight and hearing!) with ample lounge chairs, tables, BBQ grills, and a restroom; it is rarely busy. Publix is less than a mile away so there is no need to go back over the bridge to shop for groceries. Our condo is well supplied with all the necessary kitchen utensils and many spices are provided.

Our family is from Central Florida and we purchased this condo mainly for our own use, but also to offer to guests as a vacation rental when we cannot use it ourselves. We renovated and furnished it to a higher level than most units to ensure that there is ample seating, convenient TV viewing, a fully functional kitchen, and a reading chair in each room.

Why they chose this property

We've rented in the area for several years and we quickly realized that we wanted a place on South Hutchinson Island convenient to Downtown Stuart, which is our favorite small city in Florida-- not too crowded but large enough to offer amenities like many good restaurants and shopping. We focused on the Indian River Plantation because it is a resort community large enough to create a buffer between State Road A1A and the ocean, so there is no busy street directly behind us like most of the condos up and down the coast. Instead there is a golf course and lots of green space and walking paths. We chose the Southeast side of the Pelican Building in particular because of its direct oceanfront location and its separation from other buildings. This makes for better views and more peace and quiet; there is a nice heated pool on the north side of the building, but we are shielded from any noise. Being on the Southeast side also means we enjoy the prevailing southern breeze during the hotter months of the year while being protected from colder winds in the winter. One of the reasons the beach is uncrowded is that Martin County restricts the height of all buildings to four stories and smaller buildings equals fewer people on the beach.

What makes this property unique

Our condo is on the third floor of the four-story Pelican building and it affords great views of the ocean that aren't possible on lower floors. There are two types of two-bedroom units in our building and we have stayed in both. The end units are nice but they lack the deep balconies and oceanfront master bedroom that our condo has. There is nothing like waking up in the morning to the sight and sound of the sea, and the deep balcony allows lots of room for outdoor living and dining.
