Ideal location for our brief stay, with a lovely view out onto the Clyde.
Smashing little cottage with all the facilities we needed.
Hope to return later in the year
very cozy property for a short trip. We had a great NY and enjoyed staying warm. There’s a good selection of board games and puzzles, the kitchen amenities are great. Probably the best armchair i’ve seen with a great view.
Honestly loved it. Was really easy with check in etc and Petrina was really helpful with messaging. Plus, Kilcreggan is beautiful

Very freindly host but bad weather
The property is hard to enter by car (very narrow and steep drive-in). The hot water makes some problems and you need some instructions to keep it running. To get to the interesting points you need to leave the peninsula and drive quite an hour.
The host is very helpful and kind but the weather was our biggest problem (always raining). So we decided to leave four days earlier. We got no refund and the price per week was raised and an additional service fee was requested (even an additional guest fee was taken, but we had no guests) that the resulting bill was the same as if we'd stay four days longer.
It would have been better just to say we can't get any refund if we leave earlier than adapting the bill without our confirmation.

I'm sorry you did not enjoy your stay. When I was unable to resolve the issue with the hot water I paid for an engineer to fix it the following day and he advised me that many adjustments had been made to the boiler pressure which had caused the fault. The previous guests who left the day you arrived had no issues with the water. The rate I charge for the cottage is based on 2 people any guests over 2 are charged an additional fee for laundry and your son was the third guest. Service fees are charged by VRBO for using their platform not me and I also have to pay them a service fee.
Your booking was during my peak season and you told me the evening before you left that you were cutting the trip short because of the weather. I opened the booking calendar when you left to try and get another booking so I could offer you a partial refund. I did not get another booking and it is quite unreasonable to expect a refund when you cut your trip short because of the weather and only gave me an evening's notice. Unfortunately I have no control over the weather. However a 30 minute drive would have taken you the cinema, the Reni Macintosh Museum, swimming pool, bird of prey centre, the sea life centre, not to mention the Loch Lomond boat trips. A similar journey in the opposite direction would have you in Inveraray castle or Jail both very interesting tourist attractions and indoors. The world famous Loch Fyne Oyster Bar is en-route and perfect for lunch/dinner stop. A 15 min ferry from kilcreggan pier would have you in Gourock and its heated outdoor pool which is quite pleasant on a rainy day. Both my partner and I made this suggestions to you and all the tourist information is in the cottage. I'm sorry you and your family didn't get to enjoy all the area has to offer and that most of your time was spent in the cottage. As the Scottish comedian, Billy Connolly said 'there's no such thing as bad weather only the wrong clothes, so get yourself a sexy raincoat and live a little! '
