Hi, I’m Matt, your host. I’m a self-employed builder who enjoys all the benefits of living in a working seaside community. I’m actively involved in pool teams at our local pubs and enjoy walking the local nature reserves, which are unique to Dorset. I’ve lived in Weymouth for most of my life, so I am able to recommend lots of local pubs, restaurants, entertainment, and scenic visits. I decided to renovate The Corner Post as an accessibility-friendly apartment because I wanted to help Weymouth offer inclusive holidays for people with disabilities. Although I work full-time, help will be available during your stay through email, and I will provide a contact number on arrival.

As I’ve lived here most of my life, you could say I’m biased, but being on the south coast, Weymouth has everything you need to make your stay as active or relaxing as you choose, and if you want to visit famous landmarks, National Trust properties and unique days out, like Monkey World, Corfe Castle and The Tank Museum, to name but a few, The Corner Post will make a fantastic base for your adventures.

The Corner Post Holiday Letting is a one-bedroom apartment that has been thoughtfully planned to accommodate accessibility requirements, featuring a wet room, a fully equipped kitchen, spacious doorways, and complimentary on-site parking. With extra comfort in mind, we’ve even added a sofa bed to the lounge area. The parking space is a local council-approved space on the forecourt of the property with a dropped kerb which is 2.5m wide. Once inside, there is space for a mobility scooter to turn around. The front door opening width is 86cm. The internal doors are 83cm wide, with the exception of the fire doors, which narrow the openings to approximately 81cm. All areas have been designed with a minimum access gap of 90cm (around the bed, in the bathroom and kitchen). Lower light switches have been added with a pull cord in the bedroom and bathroom. We allow one dog to stay with you, but they must not be left alone in the apartment, nor be allowed on the sofa or bed. There is an extra deposit required for people with a dog.
