Well equipped lovely decorated cottage. Peaceful location which was ideal for visiting the sights we wanted to see. Nice of the owner to leave some goodies. Will definitely stay again
The house was lovely - clean, airy, light, and equipped with everything we needed. Great location, close to sites in the area, and the local pub (New Inn) is excellent for both drinks and food. Communications with Helen were easy and friendly. Overall, a great stay.

Situated in a quiet location in beautiful countryside, the property had been accurately described and had everything we could wish for. It was clean and tidy and the beds were comfy. Communication with the owner was easy, and the basket of local goodies made us feel welcome.

We had a lovely stay. The cottage is perfect for a getaway. Comfortable beds and a sunny conservatory with gorgeous views. Everything you need for a stay and some treats from the owner.
A great base to see Corfe Castle, Swanage, Knoll beach and Durdle Door.
We enjoyed meals at the village pub and the bakery in Corfe Castle.

Thank you Marie.
I am always interested in the areas my guests choose to explore. You enjoyed all the places we enjoy with our grandchildren too.
My husband loves the scones from the bakery!
Well equipped house in a fantastic peaceful and private location. The house had everything we needed, and Helen was very helpful. We particularly liked the conservation for reading crafting and painting. It was also a good base for exploring the Isle of Purbeck.

So pleased you enjoyed your stay Louise. I agree the conservatory has many benefits and it sounds as if you used it well. We love it too!
Nostalgic trip to Dorset to relive childhood holidays with our parents. Great location of the cottage to Corfe Castle and all the local must see places to visit. The cottage was as described and suited all our needs and perfect for our elderly parents, the biscuits and homemade marmalade was also a lovely touch. The pub next door (The new Inn) served a good Sunday Roast and worth a visit. Lovely holiday and hopefully we will return soon.
2 grandparents, 2 parents and 9 year old child. The property was ideal. Beautiful location, excellent pub literally round the corner and close to Corfe Castle, Kimmeridge beach, Monkey World and Swanage. Still much more to visit next time! Wood burner with wood supplied added to the enjoyment and a lovely basket of goodies to welcome us with.

Thank you Evie for your review. I am so pleased you enjoyed your new year celebration in Dorset. I make every effort to give my guests a good experience. Look forward to having you again.
Wonderful stay at this lovely cottage. Location perfect for all we wanted to do. The only thing I have marked down on is accuracy of listing. This is due to it saying it had a hot tub. I think this was a genuine error. There are no pictures of it, so I emailed the owner who replied straight away to confirm there was no hot tub. This was fine and I went on to book this anyway.
Really enjoyed our stay in Church Knowle, cottage is spacious, comfortable and has everything needed. Having two bathrooms is great. Location is good too, we walked to Corfe, easy drive to Wareham, Swanage, Studland and surrounding areas. Local pub serves good food.
Only drawback was the cleaners didn't do a great job, which was a little disappointing that it hadn't been cleaned just before arrival, or even the day before. It smelt musty on entry, (which soon dissipated on opening windows though), there were noticeable cobwebs in the bedrooms, and the main bathroom was dusty, but otherwise fine.

I am very disappointed by the latter part of this review and have responded privately to the guests.
I take great pride in making every effort to provide a happy welcome for my guests so I am very sorry this was not so.
I rely on good housekeeping to ensure the property is presented clean, warm and welcoming.
A period of wet weather and a low thermostat may have contributed to the problem.
Fantastic location, incredible countryside and so much to do
I was travelling with my 88 year mother and my siblings. My mother has limited mobility so an accessible property with parking was essential. The views from the cottage were amazing and we had so many tourist spots and activities within a short driving distance we were spoilt for choice. The property was described as wheelchair accessible which, on the whole it was although my mum (who uses a rollator, not a wheelchair) had to enter from the back garden as that door had only 1 small step and the others had quite steep steps. Also whilst the family bathroom is accessible the ensuite bedroom and bathroom did not have room for wheelchair or rollator access.
We had a good week staying at Stansfield in the lovely Purbeck countryside. It felt great to arrive late Friday afternoon at a spacious and tidy bungalow with a perfect view across the valley towards Kingston Matravers. Not overlooked and not isolated.
Our party of six, grandparents, parents and two young children were very comfortable even when it rained two out of the six days.
Plenty to do in the area. Kids loved Swanage, and Corfe Castle a big hit, both the castle and village. Wareham carnival was good fun and it remained dry.
Lots of outdoor space front and back, for playing and eating out on the big patio that gets late afternoon sun. Large parking area.
The tiled conservatory very useful for beach gear, shoes and wellies.
Thank you Helen for the delicious homemade and shop goodies.
We were very pleased with the property. It is well located in Dorset near great beaches, Corfe Castle and places to visit for children. The views across the Corfe Valley were great. It was comfortable, cosy and very quiet. The cottage was well equipped kitchen wise and had a nice garden with patio and table for eating outside. The owner provided a nice welcome hamper. The downsides 1) the TV was not great, pretty small and unreliable and not a smart telly. Not majorily important but limited the evening entertainment when we were at home 2) the decor needed a refresh in places. The carpet was damaged in a few areas and there were some parts that needed painting. But overall it met our expectations and served us well. We would recommend to others.

HI James
Thank you for your frank response to your stay in our cottage. I am pleased you found it a suitable position for your holiday.
As you stated we do not have a Smart TV but we have never found it to be unreliable. With the use of the Apple TV you would have had access to Apple and Prime, also if you have an iPhone you would be able to link into the Apple TV. Detailed instructions on how to use the TV is available on the unit.
With constant use of the property the decor is always being updated so I am sure we will be checking it over at the end of the summer. I agree with the mark on the carpet in one of the bedrooms which occurred recently and will be addressed at the end of the letting season.
With kind regards
Helen
Stansfield is a lovely house in the pleasent and peaceful village of Church Knowle. The house is well equipped, better than most properties. You wake up to beautiful views of rolling hills, which also make for excellent walks from the doorstep. You are very close to Corfe Castle as well as Swanage, Lulworth, Studland, Poole and many other places. You can easily spend a week here and have enough places left to visit to come back for another week.
The house itself has three good sized bedrooms equipped with comfortable beds. The lounge is also comfortable and the adjoining conservatory is lovely to sit in and enjoy the views. The garden is spacious and would give kids plenty of space to run around.
Helen is a lovely host with excellent communication. She is always friendly and helpful.
The only question that remains is when to book the next week? We will be back.
Woning is zeer mooi ingericht, alle comfort aanwezig.
Sehr angenehmer Ort in wunderschöner Umgebung. Man kann in Haus und Garten toll entspannen, und die Umgebung bietet eine große Vielfalt an, um Ausflüge aller Art zu unternehmen. Ein ganz toller Urlaub!
Really lovely bungalow. Very comfortable and well equipped. Couldn’t want for anything more from a holiday rental. Highly recommend

Why they chose this property
My husband and I bought this property in 2010. We had been holidaying in Dorset for several years and particularly liked the Purbeck area. We came upon the property when we were visiting the New Inn in Church Knowle one week-end. We have been delighted with our purchase and endeavour to update the property each year.
