Lovely character proerty in a peaceful and beautiful location ... a great venue for our family celebration and close enough to Wareham for all the essentials.... Thank you Mark and your team for a great weekend
This was the quintessential English cottage with a modern twist in the most spectacular setting. Bird feeders brought song and beauty, while wild flowers and canopies of trees created a picture perfect setting. The host was accommodating and helpful, and the home was welcoming. We wanted to stay longer.
The Carthouse was an amazing experience which was idea for our three generations. It was full of character , well equipped and comfortable beds. Our grandchildren loved the garden and watching the squirrels and other wildlife. It is tucked away but yet not far from Wareham, Studland , Swanage and Poole which we also enjoyed visiting. We definitely recommend this lovely house to other guests and we hope to return.
The property was lovely, location good. Lovely big garden. There were plumbing issues however, the owner contacted a plumber quickly and problems were resolved, but fresh plumbing issues arose again before the end of the stay
Everything about the cottage was perfect for us as a family. The bedrooms were spacious, feather quilts and pillows on the beds. Wardrobes and or chest of drawers. Bathrooms (2 in main cottage, 1 in annexe above the garage) kitchen was so well equipped, everything you could want. Large fridge freezer. Some cleaning products available. Hoover, mops etc provided. Flowers, biscuits, milk left for arrival. Living area sofas and chairs (low down). Garden has plenty of seating even a child’s picnic bench The whole place family friendly. We enjoyed our stay so much and will be booking again. Thoroughly recommend
The whole family enjoyed the location and abundance of wildlife around the property. The children loved the large grassed area to play in. The living area and bedrooms were perfect for our party, however, we did notice there was only enough comfortable seating for 8. There were issues with the fact that we needed to light the wood burner in order to have heating upstairs, we were expecting plug in oil heaters. The water system was rather noisy but did not in any way spoil our stay. Milk, biscuits and fresh flowers on arrival were a welcoming touch. Overall a very pleasant stay.
Families gathering with 9 adults. The house was very cosy and welcoming. It was also well equipped.
Only observation is that the house is very access friendly, but it’s a shame that the downstairs bathroom does not have a walk in shower. Had to get my elderly parents to the upstairs bedroom so they can use the shower in the bathroom on that floor. Otherwise it would have been absolutely perfect.

A great week away...
We had a wonderful week at The Cart House over new year, with three generations of the one family in the house, aged 80 to 2 years. The house was absolutely perfect for our needs, especially with the annex so that the grandparents could escape the noise and early mornings of the kids. The Cart House was really well located and we found that after a week we still hadn't done everything on offer - we did walks, Corfe Castle, the tank museum, Lyme Regis, TE Lawrence's house, Thomas Hardy's birthplace and more. There are some lovely, family-friendly walks nearby (eg Sika). The owner of the house was very helpful and accommodating with or requests and questions. A great week - thoroughly recommended!

Liked: Check-in, communication
Disliked: Cleanliness, listing accuracy
Disappointing facilities
Only 7 lounge chairs for 10 people
Kitchen table only accommodates 8 and only 9 chairs provided
The water was provided from a well by a pump which was inadequate for the property
There were 3 showers but due to the water supply only 1 could be used at any time and you had to leave 5 minutes between showers
We would not stay again or recommend this property

Lovely and quiet, well equipped, but furnishings need updating desperately!
The house is in a beautiful location, very quiet and peaceful.
upon arrival, we noticed there are a lot of cobwebs around the front door, and unfortunately, this carried on through out the house. You do accept that the odd cobweb might appear between cleans, but they were in every room.. The settees in the lounge are DEPERATELY worn out and uncomfortable, we used the garden lounger cushions to put across the large sofa, to make it more comfortably, the arms of the settee are really out of shape and squashes , and basically, the cream leather looks split and dirty... A replacement is very neccessary!!
The kitchen had everything we could need, and was very well equipped, the beds were very comfortable, the wi fi worked well, and the garden is lovely. We did feel that the patio area really ought to be weeded when paying guests are going to be using the garden, it felt like we were unexpected guests that had arrived without notice!
The garden bedroom at the back of the house did not have a ket to open the door, we hunted the house over for it, then range the housekeeper, who said it was broken, and awaiting replacement... A note on the door to tell us this would have helped, and the instructions book had said the key would be in the door!!
All in all though, we all enjoyed our stay very much, but do invest in some replacement furniture in the lounge, the benefits would be enormous :)

Perfekter Aufenthalt

Schönes abgeschiedenes Haus mitten im Wald
Idealer Ausgangspunkt für Besichtigungen in der Umgebung ( old Harrys Rocks,Durdle Door,Lulworth Cove ,Corf Castle ,etc.
Location was great and so quiet, with lots of birds and deer around us. The property and the garden were as we had expected. If there is a negative all of the fixtures, fittings and furnishings are very tired and should all be upgraded, dont expect quality. But a great stay really enjoyed Studland and Wareham Wednesday night.
Lovely rural location down an unmade road. The house was clean and tidy. Plenty of everything in the kitchen. All the bedrooms were great for our requirements. Showers hot after locating the switch. Spent a lot of time in the garden watching the bats at dusk-nesting in the roof. Some lovely birds on the bird feeder. Went to Arne and Worbarrow bay. The communication with the owners was seamless. Thank you.
Stunning location, very peaceful and private, but within easy reach of lovely beaches. Well stocked kitchen and lovely secluded garden. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Great location but needs significant TLC
In a great location however the cleanliness of the property leaves a lot to be desired. Full of dust, fluff and spiders webs. Particularly in todays world. The furniture in the lounge is well passed its best and is virtually unusable to sit on except for one armchair.
We really enjoyed ourselves during a weeks summer holiday. The accommodation suited us very well with ground floor and annexe bedrooms for the grandparents and 3 upstairs bedrooms for us and our 3 teenagers. The beds and linen were clean and comfortable, we did find the sofa a little bit too low for the older members of our family and the teens found the WiFi was a little bit temperamental. The garden was excellent for the dogs, games of football and badminton. Overall a great location for the coast, countryside and local towns including swanage and Poole. We would recommend the Cart house for larger groups.
A beautiful property in a fabulous location, nestled in glorious woodland. Peaceful and quiet - quite perfect. Good sized rooms and it felt open and airy. Wonderful big fireplace and plenty of wood left for us to use.
Lovely big kitchen with a huge table big enough to fit us all. It was fully stocked with good quality china, cutlery and glassware and lots of pots and pans. Good sized fridge and freezer and, bonus, a dishwasher.
However, given what we were charged for the Christmas week, there were a few niggles:
- we were left with only 1 tea towel for a full week!
- the bed linen had seen better days - faded and thin plus all the poppers had broken so the covers rode up the duvets
- towels were also rather small and a bit thin.
- one of the larger sofas in the sitting room was so old and saggy it was only a few inches off the floor. Seat and back cushions were squashed flat and the whole thing was desperately uncomfortable. The other large sofa had been propped up on wooden bricks which helped a little bit but was still uncomfortable. Whilst I understand that you can't put brand new furniture in rented accommodation, a simple new foam under-cushion would have done the trick. Something to be looked at...
The overall stay was great and we had a relaxing time. Would recommend if these niggles are sorted.
