This gîte was created by renovating a typical Chaîne des Puys building, and is ideal for groups (friends, family...). The distribution of beds and sanitary facilities (11 beds in 5 bedrooms, each with its own bathroom and toilet) means that the privacy of group members can be preserved. At the same time, the space available in the living room and the adapted equipment mean that there are plenty of opportunities for sharing and socialising in a warm and welcoming environment.
Before the house was a typical farm of the Chaîne des Puys. The "Abri du Berger" welcomes tribes up to 15 people, on two levels:
- on the ground floor, a huge living room includes the dining room, the lounge and its fireplace, the games area. It communicates with a bedroom with a double bed and a single bed and a bathroom. It is directly accessible from the outside. The modern kitchen equipment is suitable for group reception.
- the landing located upstairs distributes four bedrooms: two of them have a double bed and a single bed on a mezzanine, one of them has three single beds and the last has with a double bed and a single bed on the same level. All have their own private bathroom (shower or bathtub and toilet). It extends into a small terrace.
Green surroundings of the cottage allows moments of rest, games and meals.
Alternation between privacy zones, combining comfort and space, and places for sharing and conviviality allows the group to evolve together while respecting each individual.
Respectful of the initial architecture of the building, the "Abri du Berger" house uses natural materials characteristic of the natural environment: stone and wood.
The serenity of the place reflects the landscapes around marked by a soft relief calm conferred by the dormant volcanoes of the Chaîne des Puys.

About the host
Hosted by Host
The name of the house refers to the main activity of the owners, Paul and Catherine, who live nearby. Indeed, they are sheep breeders, that's why they know very well their environement and can guide guests to optimize the organization of their stay according to their interests.
For almost thirty years, the "Abri du Berger" house operated as a bed and breakfast. Paul and Catherine welcomed tourists and travelers with warmth and simplicity. Eager for meetings and moments of sharing with their hosts, they communicate easily about their land and their profession as breeders whose sheep shape the landscapes of the Chaîne des Puys.
