A historic Grade II listed farmhouse with a large garden, a private gated drive and ample parking. Nanshuthall Farmhouse was built in 1625 and boasts many original Jacobean features. The property has recently been renovated to a high standard and offers a spacious and unique experience to guests. It is situated on the outskirts of St Mawes providing privacy and tranquility. The farmhouse is a pet friendly home, sleeping 10 guests in 5 bedrooms with 4 bathrooms.
The property has a spacious kitchen, dining and seating area including an original open fire that brings everyone together. Two further traditional comfortable sitting rooms, one with a wood burning stove provides generous space for evening relaxation. French doors open onto a south facing terrace with a garden laid mostly to lawn There is a BBQ, large outside table and relaxing seating area to enjoy.
St Mawes is one of the West Country's most desirable and exclusive destinations with its enchanting south facing harbour. A short coastal or river walk into the village guests will find cafes, bakeries, art galleries and beaches along with St Mawes Castle. Built by Henry V111 in 1540 it is one of the best surviving examples of a Henrician artillery fort. The village has superbly varied and accessible sailing waters and an active sailing club with a full programme to cater for all ages.
There are a handful of popular pubs nearby including The Standard Inn, Gerrans (Simon Stallard) and The Hidden Hut, Porthcurnick Beach (Simon Stallard), while Olga Polizzi's Hotel Tresanton (Paul Wadham) The Idle Rocks, and Driftwood, Rosevine (Paul Green) offer exquisite fine dining experiences and all lure the rich and famous. Further afield there is an abundance of celebrity chef restaurants including Rick Stein (Padstow), Nathan Outlaw (Port Issac), Paul Ainsworth (Padstow and Rock) and Jay Brady and Harry Cartwright at The Mulberry (Falmouth).
Falmouth is a bustling center with a charming mixture of specialist shops, accessible either by an all round pedestrian ferry service from St Mawes or the King Harry Car ferry a few miles away. A ferry runs to Place Manor providing access to the scenic walks on stunning St Anthony Headland.
The Duchy of Cornwall offers a range of attractions such as the Eden Project, the National Maritime Museum, the Lost Gardens of Helicon and the Tate Gallery at St Ives.
Truro is 10 miles away via car ferry or 18 miles by road, Falmouth 20 minutes by foot ferry or 15 miles by car ferry, Cornwall Airport Newquay 29 miles has regular daily flights to London as well as offering connections to other UK regional airports and a number of European destinations. St Austell is 15 miles away and London Paddington 4.5 by direct train.
