A Gem of the Jungle

Mahogany Hall is just isolated enough to preserve an atmosphere of remoteness, while still being only a short drive from the bustling tourist center of San Ignacio. The property is beautifully maintained, and the Hall itself is reminiscent of a Hemingway style writer’s retreat tucked neatly away in a cozy jungle hideaway. The river provides soothing sounds of gentle rapids and offers a cool clean respite from the heat. Swimming here is entertaining and is something to be enjoyed by guests and a few locals as well. The food & drinks were delicious and the service and staff were exceptionally warm and hospitable. The dark hardwood charm of this humble estate alongside the Mopan River has been the highlight of our trip thus far and we would absolutely prioritize a stay here in the future.

Jungle oasis

We were among the only guests during our stay. Our waiter/bartender/Porter Jose was lovely and attentive. He even had a flashlight to show us a kinkajou that ran through the trees every night while we ate our delicious dinners. It was clean and peaceful. We enjoyed swimming in the pool and river and coming back to tasty restaurant meals after busy days. Full of thoughtful touches like a coffee pot cleaned daily, hibiscus flowers on our table, towels prepared for all our swimming outings, and constant smiles from the lovely, warm staff. Would definitely recommend staying here as opposed to in downtown San Ignacio. Perfect relaxing jungle retreat after action-packed days of ruin and cave exploration.

Romantic escape to the jungle

Wow! Mahogany Hall exceeded my expectations, a total gem in the jungle and on the Mopan River. Only 10 minutes to San Ignacio. The Toucan Suite was incredibly spacious, with multiple balconies for an excellent cross breeze and view (plus there are multiple ceiling fans and AC). The bathroom was fabulous with a giant jacuzzi tub where you can soak and look at the stars. We swam in the river and enjoyed relaxing. All of the staff were wonderful, friendly, and helpful. So convenient to have a bar and restaurant downstairs. Loved the free filtered water and all of the special touches. Would definitely visit here again!

We actually rented the family suite and the Toucan Suite for our four night stay. It worked out great for our group. All the rooms were set up nicely and were very clean. Housekeepig comes in every day. There is no fridge in the rooms so keep that in mind. We brought along a cooler to keeps drinks cold. There is a coffee maker and they provide drinking water. Mahogany Hall also as a restrtaunt and bar. We had a few dinners and drinks durning our stay. The food was outstanding! They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner. It's limited meun but very good. There is so much to do in the area and we loved the help the staff offered. We will return again!!!

Serene setting a short drive from San Ignacio

This place was extremely nice with a beautiful view from either the balcony, or out the french doors at the foot of the large jacuzzi tub. It's about a 15 minute drive from San Ignacio. If you don't have a rental car, I'm not sure how convenient it would be. If you do have a car, it is perfect. We went into town for meals and activities most of the time, but stayed for dinner at the property one night. The food was great and we got to see some wildlife in the trees. The bed was very comfortable. The wifi was crap. We didn't come to Belize for the internet, but we weren't able to have a quiet movie night after a long trip to the ATM cave due to 5 minutes of buffer for every minute of streaming. Oh well. I'd stay here again for sure.

Beautiful Place.

Great place right on the river. Wonderful staff, and very quiet and laid back. Only suggestion would be put small fridges in suites, and safes, for passports, ect. But all in all highly recommend.

I had an amazing girls getaway to Belize starting at Mahogany Hall. Really grateful for the communication and professionalism of Veronique as our travel concierge who reached out well in advance of travel to help us book roundtrip airport transportation, excursions, and even flight transfer to San Pedro after our stay. She was never pushy and very helpful in crafting the right itinerary for us. We felt right at home in the suite and felt completely cared for by the amazing staff at Mahogany Hall, especially Jose and Anne Marie.

Beautifully Peaceful

We spent 3 nights at Mahogany Hall. The location is a bit further out of town but worth the drive. The setting is lovely, the views over the river are specacular. The room was large, ac worked well. We enjoyed drinks at the bar as well as a dinner served on the large deck. This is a wonderful option if you are looking for a beautiful piece of the Beliezan jungle with top notch service and accommodations.

Our stay here was absolutely perfect! The staff was lovely and being a little secluded from things made us feel like we were in a different world. They helped us get a cab to and from town when necessary ($10 usd one way) but we were able to arrange pickup from all of our tours so it wasn't much of a problem. I loved stargazing from their hammocks at night and the food on the premises was solid. Also took advantage of our private balconies and en suite jacuzzi. Would love to stay again next time we're in the area.

Toucan suite is roomy and comfortable, there is a/c but we just left the balcony doors open and listened to the river and nature and enjoyed the evening breezes. Excellent food and bar service, stellar staff. Wonderful place to relax for a few days.

The only thing to say is this is the place to book!! The staff is attentive, courteous, and so friendly! The property is beautiful, lush greenery, well maintained, and all the amenities you could ask for. There’s a restaurant where you can place you orders for meals, so you don’t have to worry about meal after a long excursion. All meals were tasty! The location is great, away from the hustle and bustle of San Ignacio but close enough that you easily come back and forth with a taxi. The best part is after a long excursion, you come back to enjoy the pool or the Mopan River in the backyard! With drinks from the bar! We had the suite with the jacuzzi tub, and it had a grand window that you open up while recovering from a busy day of excursions. Another recommendation would be to use Mayawalks tours for your excursions. They have great vehicles for their tours and shuttles, are attentive to your needs, and the guides are passionate about their work!”
