About this property

Drift Cottage - Porthleven

A characterful cottage with sea views, this property is ideal for couples, families or friends looking to have a relaxing holiday on the Cornish coast. The property is less than 500 metres from Porthleven's sandy beach and less than half a mile from the bustling harbour. Porthleven is a picturesque fishing village boasting a variety of delightful eateries with menus often featuring locally caught fresh seafood. This is an ideal location from which to discover West Cornwall. Along the coast are a range of beautiful beaches to explore, walk, and enjoy water sports, including Praa Sands (5 miles), Gunwalloe (7.5 miles) and Perranuthoe (7.5 miles). This pretty cottage is welcoming and homely, with romantic sea views and convenient entrances on both levels. The property has a reverse-level design with an open-plan living area on the upper floor to make the most of the views. The lounge has a cosy wood burner for cooler evenings, so you can stay snug while catching up with your favourite shows on the Smart TV. A contemporary kitchen space has everything needed to rustle up some tasty treats to share while planning the next day's adventure. Throw open the doors to the two Juliet balconies, breathe in the fresh, salty air and listen to the sounds of the ocean lapping against the sea wall. There is a bright shower room on this level. Downstairs are two double bedrooms for a great sleep. Step outside and unwind on the small terrace with outdoor seating, sea views and memorable sunsets. The iconic St Michael's Mount and Marazion Bay are less than 8 miles away. Explore the castle and beautiful gardens set across sloping terraces. Nature lovers can enjoy an adventure at the Cornish Seal Sanctuary (8 miles) and learn more about this local species. Alternatively, Trebah Garden (15.5 miles) is a botanical haven with a subtropical garden and a secluded beach, and it is worth a visit.
