Great stay
Clean tidy on arrival
Some nice touches such as tea/coffee/milk on arrival
Easy access with safe/key entry
Great location
Bins had not been collected from previous visitors (or two!) - green bin full plus black bags in back courtyard. Mattresses are adequate but could of been better.

Great place to stay
Loved the cottage really comfortable. Everything in there you could think of.stairs a little steep but expect that from an old property. Location spot on. Walking into portleven to the harbour was 5 mins
The only thing I would say is the toilet I could only just reach to flush it. But other than that everything was great

Hello Jackie,
Thank you for your review. I am so pleased you had a great stay and that the cottage was really comfortable and well-equipped with everything you could need. Thank you for your feedback regarding the toilet flush, a new toilet has been installed with a longer flush. I hope you will book again with us in the future.
The property was clean, within walking distance to the harbour. Useful washer, dryer which was great because we didn’t get much sun.
Unfortunately the second double bedroom had very little room around the sides of the bed, my family found that quite restrictive. Both double bedrooms had soft mattress which were not good to sleep on, I wouldn’t return again due to this.

Lovely and even better if you address the two points I made above
Lovely cottage close to the harbour. Nice rooms and a well equipped kitchen. Nice to have a welcome bottle of Prosecco and milk in the fridge. Great to have a coffee machine
The toilet flush is really high and being short I had to stretch to reach it and flush several times to get it to work. There was a coffee machine but a cafetière would have been a good addition. The front door lock was tricky to work and made me nervous we might get locked out

Cute cottage - too small for five
We liked the location, the decor and the cottage feel.
There are no wardrobes and only tiny drawers so completely unpractical as no where to put clothes except tiny bedside table drawers and five coat hangers in each room. Really not good enough. When people go on holiday they take clothes. They shouldn’t have to live out of a suitcase or put them on the window ledge.
Didn’t feel super clean - the inside of the drawers and kitchen cupboards were a bit marked, bedside table top was dirty on arrival & under the sofa cushions had not been recently hoovered.
Toller Ort!

Perfect base for a wonderful Cornish break
We had the most wonderful week at Scallop Cottage, it’s the perfect base to check out Porthleven - an amazing harbour town with so many lovely places to eat, drink and explore. We were so impressed with the standard of the accommodation, it was a real home from home and and had everything we needed, from super soft towels and bedding, lovely glassware and even a high chair, travel cot and stair gate for our little one. It’s location was also brilliant for visiting other nearby attractions. We absolutely loved our stay and hope to visit again soon.
The only thing we would improve would be to maybe have a bench/small table and chairs in the yard area to enjoy a glass of wine on warmer evenings as with a small child it’s difficult for us to stay out late

Visited all the surrounding areas, our favourites are Mousehole and St Ives. Recommend Kota Kai for a family meal and the Ship Inn for a drink overlooking the harbour.

What a wonderful few days we have had, even better that the weather has been glorious. The apartment has been just perfect. Clean, well equipped with beautiful decor and so handy for the beach and the town. Such a lovely coastline with so much to see and do. Thank you!
