As soon as you start driving down the private mountain road to Nant Gwrtheyrn you’re met with the most spectacular views of heather sweeping down to the sea. Nestled between the ruins of a once bustling granite quarry is Tŷ Canol, once an old barn now converted into 4 self catering accommodation awaiting guests that long for the peace and tranquillity of this hidden gem on the Llŷn Peninsula. Tŷ Canol offers an open plan kitchenette with fridge, microwave and single induction ring and a lounge with sofa bed with mountain views dotted with old mine and past agricultural ruins. The downstairs also provides a shower room. Walking up stairs you are welcomed by a king size bed and Velux window. The floors and furniture are made of solid oak by Welsh craftsmen. There is a traditional Welsh blanket specially designed for Nant Gwrtheyrn by Melin Tregwynt on each bed. Free WIFI is also available in Tŷ Canol and the onsite café offers a varied selection of drinks, snacks and cakes. Nant Gwrtheyrn is the home of the National Welsh language and heritage centre and the Wales Coast path meanders down to the beach past the free car parking spaces for guests. No street lights provides the perfect opportunity to admire the night skies of this remote, inspiring location. The silence from no television is golden.

The property was great for our requirements. The bed was sizeable - at least a Super King and very comfortable. Note there are limited cooking facilities - a single electric hob plate and microwave - but this was explained in the accommodation description. It was ideal for our dog as it backed onto a footpath. We particularly enjoyed the stunning location and walks and found the heritage centre very interesting.
Great studio that had recently had an upgrade. Comfy beds, clean amd stylish. Good dog walk down to the beach. Stunning drive through the quarry to get there.
Fantastic location with a peaceful surrounding- very interesting centre re the welsh culture, history and language especially.

Beautiful location, accommodation was clean and comfortable.Quite isolated nothing within walking distance other than cafe that closes late afternoon. Not much equipment to cook, if wanting to make evening meal. Need to bring tea towel, something to wash dishes with, condiments etc. Beach/bay beautiful to spend some time, saw dolphins and seals on morning walks.Steep hill down and back up.
The location is wonderful. We hardly left the valley/cove.
The accommodation was great. Beautifully decorated and very clean. It had a simple small kitchenette with a toaster, kettle, a little hot plate and sharp knives. And a tea towel and washing up liquid.
Only suggestion would be more hooks or rails for drying. We were either wet from the sea or wet from the rain!
The on site cafe has an excellent location and good cakes but that is about all that can be said for it. Don’t rely on it for meals during your stay.

Thank you very much for your kind words. We will definitely take your suggestion on board about more hooks for drying. We hope to welcome you back soon. Many thanks.
Accommodation and location were near perfect if you want to be away from it all. However, just a couple of items to note that may help. Although it does sleep 4, there is limited space for 4, especially for eating, apart from a small table where you have to sit on the floor. There is nowhere to buy food after the cafe is closed at 5.00. Lastly, the one thing I was very disappointed about was the so-called Dark area. Both nights were illuminated with various lights from cafe, and there were lots of them, and other houses, to make it look like Blackpool illuminations; so not dark at all!
