Cycladic stone house, part of the Kimolos Castle
The House in the Castle is part of the 16th century Castle of Kimolos, which is recognized as an official Monument, and was renewed with respect for tradition under the supervision of the Ephorate of Byzantine Antiquities.
It is a real bioclimatic building: 1m thick stone walls, 4m high ceilings, double insulated roof and small openings under the roof to the interior to let the air circulate. The kitchen on the ground floor is half-built inside the rocky ground.
The house is in the middle of the village and just 1 km away from the port and 3 km away from the clean sandy beaches.
