About this property
Modern and cozy family home
This modern, bright and cozy home is the perfect holiday choice to unwind in the Ring of Kerry, with the sea and the mountains on your doorstep. The property offers plenty of space inside and out, is great for families, and is within 5 minutes walk of all the facilities and attractions of the picturesque town of Sneem.
A scenic area at the foothills of the mountains and beautiful beaches; Killarney National Park, Derrynane beach, White strand and much more
The space
The house is self-contained, it has two private entrances at the front and back, and a private garden. The house is part of an estate on the edge of town, and as such is set in a very tranquil and child-friendly area. There is Wifi throughout the house.
The house includes a cozy living area with a very comfortable seating space that is large enough to accommodate your entire party. There is a flat screen smart TV, a bluetooth speaker, and an electric fireplace. Books, toys and games are available for any guests staying at the property.
The kitchen area is fully equipped and well suited for anyone who loves cooking and includes a fridge freezer, hob, oven, microwave, kettle and toaster, coffee machine (nespresso pods) as well as basic necessities such as cooking oil, salt, pepper and an array of spices. The kitchen area also includes a dining table and a little children’s corner for young children to play.
Next to the kitchen area there is a washing machine, iron and ironing board, and a downstairs toilet.
The house offers three bedrooms and two bathrooms (one ensuite) upstairs.
The spacious and bright master bedroom contains a king size bed, an ensuite bathroom with a shower, wash basin and toilet. The room has plenty of storage space and a built-in wardrobe for guests to use. The room offers a lovely view, and overlooks the private garden.
The second bedroom also includes a built-in wardrobe and a large chest of drawers, and has two beds that can either be pushed together or function as two separate single beds.
The third bedroom is set up as a children’s room with a triple bunk bed - perfect for slightly older children!
The family bathroom offers a bath and a separate shower, and another toilet and wash basin. There is a hair dryer in the house. Towels, including towels for the beach in summer, are provided for guests.
Smaller children are also more than welcome and a travel cot and baby high chair will be provided free of charge. The house inventory also includes items such as child-friendly cutlery, a bottle warmer and some baby-friendly toys.
The property has a spacious private garden where guests can sit outside on a sunny day and the kids can play. There is a barbecue that guests can use free of charge.
Directly next to the house are a playing ground and a football/basketball court.
There is free parking right in front of the house, with enough room for two cars. As the garden can be entered from the side of the house, it offers a safe space for bikes or other items such as surfboards etc. to be stored as well.
Guest access
The guests have private access to the entire property.
Other things to note
It is situated in one of the most sought after and desirable areas in Ireland.
The local bars and restaurants are within 500m down the road in Sneem. The village has several shops, three pubs, five restaurants and a post office.
Kenmare is a 25 minute drive and Killarney 45 mins drive (a beautiful drive).
The house is an ideal base for hiking, nice beaches and stunning views.
It is also possible to take a day trip around the Ring of Kerry or to take one of the tours from Killarney or Kenmare or a boat trip to the Skellig Islands.
The Dingle Peninsulas and Valentia Island are all within an easy drive.
We provide some necessities free of charge upon arrival: Sugar, tea and coffee pods, dishwasher tablets, toilet paper and garbage bags. More items can be found in the cupboards.

About the host
Hosted by Pieter van Erp
We are Maaike and Pieter, two Dutch people who kept finding themselves back in Ireland. The country is just so beautiful and the people are the friendliest in the World. When we extended our family with two young kids Huo (6 years old) and Annika (1 year old) we found Ireland was perfect for young families also. We bought this house at the ends of 2023. We tried to make the house as comfortabel as possible for our guest and ourselves. We hope you enjoy the house and area as much as we do! Do feel welcom and let us know if you have suggestions for improvement.
