The charm of Arismari lies in its traditional stone structure.
The charm of Arismari lies in its traditional stone structure, the shaded lower terrace with a pool for cooling off, and its pergola on the upper terrace with 160° views over Souda Bay and the mountains. These areas are ideal for relaxing and unwinding. The house is in the heart of a small, typical Cretan village where Zorba the Greek was filmed (Kokkino Horio). It is completely unoverlooked, away from the main tourist routes and immersed in a very local atmosphere. Ideal for families with children or small groups, it is a simple house with all the comforts of a main residence (fully-equipped kitchen, appliances, good bedding, air conditioning in the living room, mosquito netting on the windows). There are 3 bedrooms, sleeping 6. There is also a cot for children up to 7 years old in the downstairs bedroom and 1 sofa bed in the living room. A wifi internet connection is available, as well as board games, books and a hi-fi system to which you can connect your smartphone (jack plug). The swimming pool is enclosed by a barrier. In the village you'll find Yoannis's taverna, with a beautiful view over Souda Bay, and the minimarket of Geourgous. A 20-minute walk will take you to the Koutalas cove for a swim and to the underwater caves for snorkelling (the return journey is quite steep). The beaches of Apokoronas (Almirida, Kalives, Kalami) are 4 km away. The old Venetian port of Chania (the historic capital) is a 45-minute drive away.
Arismari is a family home where our father lived. He particularly liked the village of Kokkino Horio for its friendly people, its magnificent view over Souda Bay and its proximity to the beaches and old town of Chania. The house is simple and comfortable, with a small swimming pool that children love and older children can cool off in. The upstairs terrace offers a magnificent view of the sea. It's always a great pleasure to come and recharge our batteries here with the children....
