We visited your VRBO during Tropical Storm Jose and the need for shelter from the storm. Any accommodations on Nantucket Island begin at $400/night. We were wet and had been cancelled from leaving the Island when we found "Forrest" and his rental in a cell phone conversation given on your internet site.
The parking on the one-way India Street isn't easy, but my wife and I along with my daughter (whose 30th Birthday had brought us out to Nantucket) and her (now fiancé) boyfriend decided not to "overwhelm" Forrest all of us wet and #4 of us. My daughter Sasha and I would meet him. Sasha and Randall would use the place the first night and my Wife and I (who had accommodations for another night) would take the rental the next since we had still to wait out the storm and get ourselves and vehicle off the Island with 160 others.
We met Forrest who brought us into this very magical world with very comfortable beds, bedding, gorgeous old library at your fingertips, old spectacular original oil paintings and wonderful dark panel OR the downstairs "back" unit; opens out on a quiet back yard, king sized bed with beautiful bedding and nice bathroom with a small extra room with a single for extra person and/or/ luggage all with access to library space, beautiful and tasteful dining room with museum-grade paintings, antique furnishings, etc..... it was a truly unique place and its owner, Forrest, was an inspiration... a wealth of years, a professor, and knowledgeable in so many ways. Our experience, although short, was unforgettable...and the most affordable for Nantucket. I am also in leg braces. This India Street property and its the proximity to the heart of town made this easy and doable. Although his upstairs unit was so spectacular, the 1st floor "back" unit was just what we needed. It was beautiful, clean, done with new "old" fixtures. It was bright and easily accessed. It made our experience comfortable and accessible.
