Gwalia is a detached converted stone barn with outstanding coastal and estuary views directly opposite the historic castle at Laugharne, Carmarthenshire. Dylan Thomas's boathouse is also a stones throw away. It is one of two barns at Pentowyn, in a beautiful rural setting on the Taf estuary in Carmarthenshire. Originally a priory farm, Pentowyn now consists of the owner's farmhouse, the holiday barns and 5 acres of grazing land.
The Wales Coast Path passes behind the farm and there are many walks from the doorstep - including one to the saltmarsh with its abundance of wildlife. Gwalia is just a 5-minute drive to the long sandy beach at Llansteffan. The village has a shop, beach cafe, ice cream cabin, Florries Fish and Chips and two family-friendly pubs offering tasty meals.
There is a tennis court, multi-use games court, playing field and two play areas for children. Llansteffan Castle commands impressive views up the River Towy and towards Carmarthen Bay and just beyond it you will find the delightful Scott's Bay. Gwalia is the perfect base for various activities, including walking, tennis, bird watching, sea fishing, cycling and golf. The National Botanical Garden of Wales, Aberglasney Gardens and several castles are a short drive away.
ACCOMMODATION Gwalia sleeps 6 people in 3 bedrooms: 1 king size and 1 twin on the first floor. 1 twin on the ground floor.

DOWNSTAIRS Bedroom 3: twin beds Open Plan lounge/dining/kitchen: oak flooring and oak furniture, two comfortable sofas positioned around a log burner, 42-inch LCD TV with Firestick, DVD player, and CD tuner/tape player with separate speakers. The oak dining table comfortably sits 6. Kitchen: electric oven and hob, dishwasher, microwave, and fridge freezer. OUTSIDE A sliding patio door leads onto a paved area with wooden garden furniture. There is a large grassed area which is suitable for ball play and an enclosed garden to the side There are stunning views across to Laugharne where you can watch wonderful sunsets. A washing line and BBQ are available. There is plenty of parking.
