About this property

Barney's Beach House - Ocean Front Fenced in yard for dogs

This is beach front living at it's best! Three bedrooms, 2 baths, and a laundry room. Three full bedrooms; one with a king bed and master bath, another with a queen bed, and the third bedroom with 4 bunk beds. The house sleeps 8 and has beds for 8. All bedrooms have HDTV and DirecTV.

Large comfortable living areas, all with excellent views of the ocean. Large kitchen with granite counter tops and stainless steel appliances. Did I mention the extra large 360 degree wrap-around deck where you can watch the kids playing in the surf? Enjoy your view and see if you can catch a glimpse of the dolphins just outside your front door!

The home also has a large 70x100 fully fenced backyard, with access from the rear stair case. Guests who bring their dogs just have to open the back door and let their pets out to do their business without having to walk them. Doesn't get any easier than this when traveling with your dogs! The large yard is fully grassed in and fully fenced and gated for your children and guests to play safely. There is also a fire pit, bench and park style grill in the fenced in back yard for your enjoyment. As a bonus, the house is located at the end of the road; no traffic and no noise, just a quiet and peaceful visit!

Welcome to our home! We have been vacationing here since the house was built in 2014. Last year the owners asked us if we were interested in owning the home we loved visiting; we said Yes! Yes, our last name is Gilchrist, like the town the house resides in and that has made this a special place for us. Welcome to you from all of us, Including Barney, our Jack Russell!

Why they chose this property

It's comfortable and quiet, especially during the week. The views are breathtaking and tranquil. There is nothing like falling asleep to the sound of the ocean. When you first walk into the house you immediately feel at home. I think what makes this property unique is a few things. First, It's three years old and impeccably built. Second, I'd have to say the view and third, is the convenience of letting your dogs in and out. We have three dogs and have vacationed all over Galveston before finding this house. Walking three dogs up and down the stairs individually on a leash would take forever (and did!). The former owner built this property with dogs in mind. You open the gate, the dogs run downstairs into a fully gated area and come up when finished. At night, walk out the back door, flip on the back lights and it's that easy.

What makes this property unique

This is the ONLY home in the area that has a 360 degree wrap around porch with 2 exits (front and back)! We offer a fully fenced in back yard that is accessible from the deck. If you are interested in renting a golf cart, we recommend: Texas Custom Carts, the owner is Greg Smith, his number is 512-917-8515. Greg rents 4 and 6 seater golf carts and delivers them to the front door! Just tell him that you are staying at "Barney's Beach House".
