A grand, newly renovated villa in a castle setting

Welcome to Förvaltarvillan at Stora Sundby,

In the courtyard grounds of Stora Sundby Castle stands Förvaltarvillan, with wonderful views over the castle. It was designed and built in the 1840s by master builder Abraham Nyström as a home for the estate's and castle's steward.

The villa has been tastefully renovated and spans two floors, with a dining room and lovely sitting rooms for gathering. It offers a large garden, a glazed veranda, and six double rooms, two of them en-suite and two sharing a family bathroom. There is also an additional family bathroom and a guest WC on both the ground floor and upper floor. A conference TV with Apple TV and Chromecast is available on site.

The villa is perfect for smaller conferences and corporate events – or simply for enjoying the countryside and the beautiful surroundings around Stora Sundby Castle and the wonderful Lake Hjälmaren, together with friends or family.

During summer, the café in the castle park is open from 11am to 4pm, and year-round you can enjoy beautiful walking trails through the park, past the deer enclosure and along the shores of Hjälmaren. It's just 300 metres to the beach, a 5-minute drive to the grocery store, and a bus station with public transport to Eskilstuna. A dream place to stay in every season.

Excellent stay at this villa

We spend the Christmas at this wonderful villa and we had an excellent time.We were 14 people in a combination of both adults abd children. We had everything we needed in the house in terms of facilities and equipment. In a case were we needed something it was provided the next day.Mauritz was an excellent host.

My family and friends had a wonderful time celebrating Midsummer week at the Stora Sundby Estate. The home is beautiful, spacious, and comfortably accommodated our group of 12, with modern amenities and stunning views of Stora Sundby Castle.The location is charming and has everything you could need. Just steps from the house, you'll find a lovely café for lunch or fika, scenic walking trails, and a small beach. There's also a grocery store nearby, making it easy to stock up on essentials.What truly made our stay exceptional was the incredibly friendly and accommodating staff, who went above and beyond to ensure we had a wonderful experience. We couldn't have asked for a better place to celebrate with family and friends and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful and memorable stay.
