This is one of those VRBO properties that over-delivers on the listing description. Our stay here was magnificent: the setting, the views, the journey, and all the creature comforts. Our party of five adults luxuriated in the abundance of "hang-out" spaces, allowing for solo quiet time after hours of being together in the car. Though the weather included high winds and occasional rain, this well-built structure was quiet and cozy. The kitchen is fabulously well-stocked with everything needed for staying in and cooking, with a surprisingly good Super Valu grocery store just 8 minutes away! The beds were very comfortable and the bath linens were high quality. It was nice that each room had its own bathroom. This property would be perfect for a visit anytime of year, with lovely grounds to sit outside during warm summer days and inviting couches, chairs, and even hanging baskets to curl up on to read or binge-watch a show. Our only disappoint upon arriving here was realizing that we only booked for two nights! We promised ourselves our next visit will be for at least a week. This is our first visit to Ireland. Visiting the usual things in Dublin and Cork was important, but traveling to Hillwalkers Dream took us through grand vistas and verdant valleys that explained why this land is called the Emerald Isle.

Wonderful Irish country home!It had all the needed items like comfy beds, cleanliness, well stocked supplies, etc. The home owner was very thoughtful in supplying extra’s like cozy blankets, reusable shopping bags, many spices and condiments. I think our favorite “extra” was the dog imprinted toilet paper! Oh, and we loved watching the “4 dog parade” that ambled down the lane each day. Can you tell we missed our poochies? We initially booked this home thinking it would be a great jumping off point for the ring of Kerry. Staying on Beara peninsula was amazingly beautiful and not touristy at all. Turns out, we had so much fun exploring Beara that we went to the Ring of Kerry only once. It was pretty but so, so crowded. We enjoyed the beauty of the Ring of Beara so much more. People were also really friendly! We fell in love with locally caught fried monkfish sold from area food trucks! Yum! This is a long winded way of saying we loved this home and its location very much!

Absolutely gorgeous! Large house with tastefully curated rooms and amazing views/landscape. Well maintained and sparkling clean. Can tell the owners care. The two living rooms and upstairs bedroom are overlooking a vast green valley with sheep, and the ocean (Bere Peninsula?) is able to be seen in the distance on a clear day. Hungry Hill mountainside view to the rear of the property. House felt warm and cozy with great natural lighting during the day and dramatic cozy lighting at night. Very comfortable stay. Quality bedding, towels, and linens. Bathroom had fun design characteristics and a jacuzzi tub. Large open clean kitchen, convenient laundry, several outdoor nooks to relax and enjoy the fresh air, sounds of nature and the cool breeze. Great location 5 minute drive into the center square of Castletownbere with plenty shops, restaurants, supermarket, and pubs. Also a short drive to the Eyeries and other points of interest like Dunboy Castle and Bere Island (ferry needed). Hiking trail to Hungry Hill nearby. Would definitely be back if in the area again and would definitely recommend!

Comfort, Class and Style

This was an ideal setting for me to end my whirlwind journey across Ireland. It was such a beautiful house, located on the countryside just out of town. An incredibly serene environment that made me ache when I had to move on. I highly recommend this establishment if you are looking for comfort, cleanliness, style and serenity. Thank you once again for allowing me to experience such a wonderful place.

Too good to be true

You question a 5 star rating with only 11 reviews right? Me too. I read every one and took a chance anyway. This place does not disappoint. The home is more spacious than expected, decorated with great style, impeccably clean, well stocked for being a hermit should you want to cook and just stay in, conveniently located, and the owners are responsive and very nice. The only draw back was the water didn’t get hot enough for what I would like in a tub but who takes a bath in a vacation home anyway? Well, once you get there, you may want to.

Kommen gerne wieder.

Amazing setting, gorgeous house!

Our jaws dropped as we approached this incredible property. It’s set in beautiful pastures, surrounded by green hills, sheep and cows. The house itself is equally lovely; it’s spacious and well-appointed, with a fully outfitted kitchen. The bedrooms were comfortable, and bathrooms were plentiful and clean. We enjoyed the variety of sitting rooms, the stone patio overlooking the hills, and the critters who greeted us in the morning. An overall sublime experience.
