Cottage with outstanding views over Kenmare Bay
Rockwell cottage is located along the Wild Atlantic Way in an idyllic setting on the Beara Peninsula. The cottage is slightly elevated to enjoy panoramic views overlooking Kenmare Bay, the open sea and the mountains beyond. It is a great option for families, couples or friends travelling the South West of Ireland. The cottage is furnished with everything you would need to make your holiday as enjoyable and comfortable as possible.
Rockwell offers an enviable location, that is very private in it’s own grounds. The large garden is perfect for summer afternoons where you can use the BBQ grill and outdoor seating. The cottage is a great option for those seeking a peaceful holiday base. Here you can enjoy walking, cycling, golf, horse riding and water sports or indeed just relaxing and drinking in the wonderful views.
The Healy Pass, sub-tropical gardens at Derreen House and Gleninchaquin Waterfall are easily reached from the property. You are also within driving distance to places such as Killarney, the Iveragh Peninsula and the Ring of Kerry. Have an evening at the famous Teddy O Sullivans pier side pub approx. 1 and half miles from the cottage and join in with the craic!
Kenmare is a 12 mile drive where you will find shops, crafts, award winning restaurants and pubs with live Irish music most nights of the summer. Kenmare also hosts a Lidl, Aldi and Supervalu where you can purchase all your needs.
There is a Sailing/water sport adventure centre just a 6 mile drive away where you can have a meal in the Restaurant, book a trip around the Bay in the Star of Kenmare or even have a coffee while watching the world go by.
Shop 2 miles, pub 2½ miles.
Interior details:
Rockwell is a modern detached property. The property has 2 bedrooms and is on one level. The kitchen, living, and dining room are open plan which makes the house open and bright. The living space faces the bay so you can enjoy the views at all times through the floor to ceiling windows. The dining table seats 6 in total which is perfect for a family. The living area is complete with a wood-burner and large TV. The TV channels are mainly UK ones via satellite (such as BBC, ITV ,Channel 4). Reception for Irish TV channels is not available.
Towards the back of the room there is a small alcove equipped with a dryer, ironing board/iron and other amenities such as games and cleaning equipment.
The two bedrooms both offer comfortable double beds. One of the rooms has partial bay views and a private en-suite with a shower. The second double bedroom (king-sized bed) has access to the main bathroom, just outside the bedroom door. This bathroom has a bath with a shower head above it.
Oil central heating, bed linen, towels and electricity are inclusive of the price. included.
Other amenities include a DVD player, Excellent quality stereo radio/CD, Microwave, Coffee maker, Washing machine, Dishwasher, Tumble dryer and Freezer.
WI-FI is free, unlimited, and suitable for day to day general use including general browsing etc. Usually very reliable.
The cottage offers a fresh Water supply that is sourced from adjoining deep bored private well. Water quality is tested annually in a laboratory and continues to maintain excellent quality.
Excellent convenient adjoining parking.
No smoking.
