About this property

Swimming, the sea, and relaxation along the Scoglitti coast

The 80-square-meter "Melanzana" apartment is located in a luxury villa with a pool on the Ragusa coast, just 100 metres from the beach. Renovated in July 2024, it features a breathtaking shared 4x8 anthracite-colored pool that is always open, a garden with an outdoor shower, a fully equipped sun deck, a barbecue, a washing machine, and a parking space. The apartment features a master bedroom, a bathroom (shower, bidet, sink), a fully equipped kitchen (oven, microwave, refrigerator, freezer, coffee maker), a living room with a sleeper sofa, Wi-Fi, air conditioning, and a Smart TV in the kitchen and bedroom (sleeps 4–6), and pets are welcome—they deserve a holiday too. Ideal for families, couples, groups of friends, and lovers of the sea, privacy, and Sicilian itineraries. Nearby, you can visit Ragusa Ibla, famous for its Baroque historic centre with picturesque narrow streets and panoramic views, the Cathedral of San Giorgio—a splendid cathedral with a spectacular staircase—the Ibleo Garden with breathtaking views of the valley, and the Portal of San Giorgio, an ancient Gothic landmark of the medieval city. Don’t miss Modica, with its Cathedral of San Giorgio—an imposing masterpiece of Sicilian Baroque—the Cathedral of San Pietro with its famous staircase and statues of the Apostles, and the historic centre with its narrow streets, Baroque vistas, and ancient palaces, the Chocolate Museum, where you can discover the tradition of Modica’s famous chocolate, and the Belvedere Pizzo, offering a spectacular view of all of Upper and Lower Modica. Another beautiful Baroque city is Scicli, with its famous Via Mormino Penna—the heart of the city’s Baroque architecture and an UNESCO World Heritage Site— Palazzo Beneventano, one of the most beautiful palaces in Baroque Sicily; the Church of San Bartolomeo, nestled among the rocks; and the Church of San Matteo, perched on a hill with panoramic views—don’t miss Scicli’s Town Hall, the famous filming location for the TV series “Commissario Montalbano.” Just a few kilometres away, you can also visit the Castello di Donnafugata, an ancient noble castle with marvellous gardens, a maze, and historic halls—perfect for photos and strolls. The archaeological excavations at Kamarina, an ancient Greek colony featuring the remains of temples, a necropolis, and an interesting archaeological museum, are just 5 minutes from the seaside village of Scoglitti. For those who prefer to stay put and enjoy Scoglitti—a charming seaside village on the southwestern coast of Sicily (part of the municipality of Vittoria, RG)—it’s perfect for anyone seeking wide, golden beaches, delicious seafood, and an authentic atmosphere. Here’s what not to miss: Scoglitti Beach—a vast expanse of fine sand and crystal-clear waters, with both equipped and free-access areas. Ideal for long walks, swimming, and sunsets over the Mediterranean. You can admire “Torre Cabrera,” an ancient 16th-century watchtower that has been restored and overlooks the sea directly: it offers splendid views and a small exhibition space. The Fishing Harbour and Fish Market come alive in the morning with the arrival of fishing boats and the traditional fresh fish market: an authentic experience where you can sample “ciammaruche” (sea snails) or freshly caught bluefish. Seaside Promenade with “
” A bike and pedestrian path running along the sea, perfect for jogging, biking, or a simple stroll at sunset, with numerous ice cream and granita stands.
The crystal-clear waters and rocky seabeds in the nearby coves (e.g., Cala Pisana, Punta del Pozzo) are perfect for diving and snorkelling.
"Punta Izzo" Nature Reserve / Biviere di Gela
A few kilometres to the east lies a wetland where you can spot herons, flamingos, and other migratory bird species: ideal for birdwatching and short hikes.
Blue Fish Festival, usually in June, with food stalls along the waterfront; Feast of St. Nicholas of Bari, patron saint of Scoglitti, with processions and fireworks in December. Vittoria (5 km): a Baroque town famous for its “Cerasuolo di Vittoria” wine and its grid-patterned historic centre. Cava d’Ispica: a picturesque gorge featuring rock-cut burial sites and prehistoric caves.
At the small seaside restaurants, it’s worth trying busiate with pistachio pesto, swordfish alla ghiotta, almond granitas, and traditional desserts like “frutti di martorana.”
Scoglitti retains a cosy and authentic atmosphere: here, time moves slowly, between a coffee at the harbour bar and a swim at dawn. Between the gentle Mediterranean breeze and the warm golden hues of the Sicilian sun, Scoglitti offers a seaside experience that stretches from mild spring through late fall. Here, with grace and refinement, is an overview of the best times to take a dip in the sea or relax by the pool: the air begins to cool in March and remains mild through November/December.
