This comfortable holiday cottage is nestled in a little lane opposite the remains of Rhuddlan Castle, built between 1277 and 1282 by King Edward 1 and now an historic sight cared for by Cadw (the Welsh Governments Historic Buildings Guardian). Players adorned in medieval costume are often within the Castle Walls adding to the historical ambience. History lovers will also notice that in Rhuddlan High Street, with its shops, hairdressers, pubs and restaurants, there is a carved stone plaque on the wall of the Parliament Building commemorating where King Edward 1 held his parliament in AD 1283. Lovely walks are to be had directly from the cottage, if you can bear to leave it, taking in views of the Vale of Clwyd, St Asaph Cathedral and as far as the Denbigh Moors. There is a nature park and trail which is a must if you enjoy seeing wildlife in its natural habitat, including ducks, pheasants and even otters. Cosy pubs with food, restaurants and little shops are all within a short walk (Sainsburys a 5 minute drive).

What a fantastic location! A beautiful view of a castle to wake to.

What a fantastic location! A beautiful view of a castle to wake to. The cottage has all the facilities you could need including a welcome pack and great communication from the hoist pre-arrival, fireplace stocked and good to go, the cottage provides a large number guides including an "on the doorstep" dog walk guide. Local amenities are a short walk away and include a convenience store, Pub and café and beaches a short journey to reach. Personally, parking wasn't a challenge, however I can see how this maybe an issue at peak season so plan ahead and arrive early. A massive to our hoist and looking forward to returning.
