The property was clean and ready when we arrived. The kitchen had a good stock of cooking utensils, crockery and cutlery and there were loads of books, DVDs, games in case they were needed. The beds were comfortable, and there was a spacious lounge.
A rotary clothes line in the garden enabled beachwear to be dried, ready for the next day. Ample parking for one car, and we parked the second car across the side gates, off the main road and not causing an obstruction. The village is quiet with the store post office and chippy all a 5 minute walk away. The beach is about a 7 minute walk, or 3 minute drive to a car park where it costs (currently) £8 to park all day. The beach is mainly sandy and didn’t get crowded even when hot and sunny at the start of August. There are sand dunes to explore and we frequently saw seals swimming just off shore.
A special mention to the Greyhound Inn at Hickling, but recommend booking a table in advance.
We’ve already booked for next year!
