About this property
Charleston has The Best of all Worlds-Beachfront, 2nd floor A+ Views & Location!
Beautiful historic Charleston: Incredible Beaches, year-round Festivals- Art & Music, historic Sightseeing, world Class Dining & Sooo much more ...
Our little Slice of HEAVEN- Come have a fun and relaxing vacation at our beachfront little get-away on the Isle of Palms, Charleston, SC. Wake up in an oceanfront condominium on one of South Carolina's most beautiful beaches. Excellent 2nd floor views have fewer stairs (than 3rd floor) for great ocean view...no elevators. (1st floor views look out towards the beach, and nice pool view, but are a bit too low to see ocean.) Beautiful sunrise and an awesome sunset, dolphins out front in the surf. You can view all of this while keeping an eye on older kids in the Saltwater Pool, all from the comfort of your living room, kitchen, or balcony. As of April '23 we have added: a brand new smooth top range, brand new queen sleeper sofa, new 20 Cu. Ft. Bottom Freezer Frig, Hamilton Beach FlexBrew Trio 3-Way Coffee Maker, K-Cup Pods or Grounds, and LVP Brazilian cherry flooring.
This is a 1BR condo with entry/pass-thru room bunks, and queen sleeper in small LR. 500 sq.ft. total means each room is SMALL, but the condo is 2x the size of standard hotel room.
Updated every Spring, We do not have granite or stainless in our salty seafront spot. The Whites of the Sand, Blues of the Ocean and Sky, and the Yellows of Sunshine, is our preferred, Beachy, Carolina Style.
Why priced so well? We are the owners, grew up here, live close by, and have been doing this for 20+ years now, so we are competitive at pricing.
Located in the heart of Isle of Palms, this cozy condo is perfectly positioned. You are just steps from the beach and in walking distance to the island’s best restaurants, shops, and park. This condominium complex claims the only pier on the Front Beach, private for your fishing or relaxation enjoyment. Free SECURE/private XFinity WIFI and digital cable TV. Rental Guests, and guests of guests, are NOT allowed to have or bring Firearms in or on this property, (except water-guns :)
*We are only "perfect" for some travelers. There are others on here that advertise being perfect, and we encourage perfectionists to rent those. Sea Cabin condos in general are classified as a 3 star resort (No elevator, no on-site concierge/ front desk, no on-site restaurants/pubs (just Very close by) built in 1985 resort, in a 5 star location that allows for no expansion. Cleaned by professional company, well stocked for what you need, true to description and a good host are what makes a Sea Cabin experience 5 star reviews. All sea cabins are same size and layout, but still, all condominiums and sea cabins are not in the same condition! Some of the condominiums and sea cabins have not been updated in 30 years; others have full reno this year. Most aren't as allergy-friendly as our unit. Old ceiling and walls have all been replaced with smooth, mold-free sheetrock in 2010, as well as cabinets; all flooring replaced 2020, New sofa, new bottom mount, large, refrigerator, and smooth ceramic top stove in 2023. It is Lowcountry Beach theme, Not Mid-Century, Modern, Industrial and/or Minimalist. This attractive condo is situated on the second floor of the center 'B' building. The balcony affords panoramic ocean views of the ocean. As we are in the middle bldg facing straight out (the 2 others angle in), this view is also shared from LR and kitchen. We are an end unit, with no one on the side that has the bedroom.
- Golf carts are not allowed. I am against that HOA policy, to no avail :(
- We are allowed only 1 parking pass during April thru Sep; 2 upon request from Oct thru March.
IOP is a barrier island suburb of Charleston. You are only ten miles from the Historic District of Downtown Charleston, where you can shop at the Old Market. Take in the charm of this beautiful and historic town and learn more about Charleston on a horse-drawn carriage ride, or tour Charleston Bay and Fort Sumter by boat. South Carolina Aquarium, world class restaurants and shopping, live theater, live music, museums, and more.
PRIVACY! This condo also offers individual privacy. The hall with built-in mason bunk beds (27" x 70") closes off to be its own private room for smaller guests with a nightlight and air/white noise machine available. top bunk is top secret hide out for kids. The adults can then go back and forth from balcony/LR/kitchen to BR thru the separate bathroom door without waking the kids. We are well suited for 2-4 adults 25 and over, and 5 people ONLY if some are children. 5 adults would Not be comfortable. 3yr Queen sleeper sofa adds extra sleeping, with top sleeper mattress, but still a sleeper- more comfortable folded up with back pillows off if you're over 30. BR has medium firmness mattresses. Bed linens and bath towels are provided. (You may certainly bring and/or rent extra linens from cleaning service here if desired. Also, beach/pool towels are Not provided. Buy here for use and memento.)
FREE SECURE WIFI and Comcast basic cable.
We keep a few beach chairs, a small/med cooler, and a some beach toys for guests to use. I also have info for a service that will set you up with wood and canvas loungers and umbrellas each morn.
You are within 2 blocks from Acme Lowcountry Kitchen, The Refuge, The Sea Biscuit, Long Island Cafe, Coda del Pesce, IOP Pizza, Shaka Shack Ice Cream, Coconut Joe's-(ok food but awesome rooftop bar) and more, The world famous Windjammer beach bar offering up nightly entertainment, and more great restaurants/ pubs/shops, all in a plentiful but quaint beachtown commercial area of approx 3 square blocks. Historical, Boone Hall Plantation established in 1681, is only 5 miles away.
While enjoying the Island Life, you can go swimming, body surfing, play volleyball, dine at oceanfront restaurants, bike the beaches, jog, cruise the intracoastal waterway, sail, surf, windsurf, take in some live music, shop the boutiques. Check out the scuba diving or go deep sea fishing. Relax at a spa or try horseback riding. Kayak, parasail, water-ski, fish, go 'Crabin or Shrimpin,' walk the beach for shells, take a sunset cruise, charter a small boat, explore uninhabited islands, play some of the South’s finest golf courses. Whether you want to get a little tune-up to your swing or you are just starting to play, there are PGA Professionals available at many. Improve your game and/or just play a great course at a reduced rate. (Schedule yourself an onsite massage in advance).
You are just 3 minutes from Mount Pleasant Towne Centre: an upscale shopping experience in classic southern style. With over 65 national and local tenants, including: Belk, Chico's, Claire's, Copper Penny, BB&B, Gap, Bath & Body Works, Caché, Men's Wearhouse and Old Navy, as well as the regions only J.Jill, Coldwater Creek and Francesca's, and many more. Sample exquisite home-made candy at Sweet Julep's Candy & Gifts, or dine at Savi Cucina + Wine Bar, Burton's Grill, Cava, First Watch, Longhorn's Steakhouse, Grimaldi's Pizzaria, PF Changs, TGI Friday's, Malika, ++ - there is sure to be a culinary diversion to suit your palette. After dinner, stroll the lush, tree-lined streets or relax at the luxurious Palmetto Grande 16-screen theatre. Ten minutes away you'll find famous Shem Creek shrimp boats and seafood restaurants. The Yorktown WWII destroyer and several historical plantations are all within easy driving distance as well.
There are security personnel on site to ensure safety, as well as parking, beach, pool, and pier access privledges. Bikes, chairs, and beach umbrella rentals are available nearby. Shopping, dining, nightly entertainment and post office are a very short walk.
Amenities: central air/heat, cable TV in LR and BR, CD player, hair dryer, full kitchen (including spice selection and plenty of cookware), microwave, dishwasher, refrigerator, newer cabinets, Hamilton Beach FlexBrew Trio 3-Way Coffee Maker, K-Cup Pods or Grounds, Combo, Single Serve & Full carafe, and filters + 8c French Press, linens included. Washer and dryer (coin or online operated laundromat on premises for guests only), saltwater year-round pool, no smoking, no pets, private chef service avail. Activities (on site or nearby): Pier and pool on site, hiking, biking, golf, tennis, fishing pier, shopping, restaurants, live theater, cinemas, museums, plantations tours, sightseeing, swimming, snorkeling/diving, boating, sailing, surfing, windsurfing, jet skiing, shelling.
We provide a limited amount of start-up paper goods, soaps, etc, so expect to purchase more when you grocery shop, if more than 2 nights.
We have upgraded medium firmness BR mattress after some guests found the other too soft. Previous full firm one brought other complaints, so we hope it will now please all.
It is standard practice to have guests empty trash, as they may have stinky stuff (diapers, seafood shells...) which permeates the place when not cleaned for hours, or occasionally the next day.
- Nov-Feb, we have great discounts for longer stays.

About the host
Your host

My name is Susan Player Verbsky; a wife and mother by God's Grace, a Psychotherapist by education & training, with a small practice here for 25+ years, and a Real Estate Investment and Management Specialist by design for the same time period. I enjoy the great intangible rewards of Therapy, and, equally, the tangible rewards of investing and developing a property, as well as working with people planning vacation time her and several other places.
Why they chose this property
After many years managing my parent's large wonderful beachfront home that rents for $12,000+ a week, we invested in a more affordable vacation here for smaller families/groups, that would be easily accessible to the beach and historic downtown. I am from here, we live close by, and we had stayed and loved these condos for years as a perfect one family beach/Charleston get-a-way before buying.
What makes this property unique
2nd floor VIEWs are as great as 3rd floor w/out the climb. Better rates and 2 x the size of the beachfront hotels, and much bigger balcony. Renovated kitchen and bath w/ fully replaced sheetrock walls and ceilings throughout for best allergy relief. End unit shares no BR wall with neighbor, has more open panoramic balcony, plus ours has the conference room below- empty at night and 75% of daytime. ** Some smaller groups/ families may want to look at our 1BR (king bed)/1BA rental 1 mile from the beach and 6 miles to Historic Downtown, and Larger family gatherings our family 6BR beachfront home listing 10624.
