About this property

A contemporary Welsh Eco house, set in an acre of land nestled on the Preseli Hills above the sea

Parc Bach is a contemporary Welsh cottage, set in an acre of farmland on the western
side of the Preseli Mountains. The house is nestled in the hills above the market town of Newport. With views out across the sea, on a clear evening you can watch the sun as it sets behind Ireland, from
the front gable window.

The architecture of the house at Parc Bach has been designed to mould into its context.
As the larch cladding around the house silvers with time and the help of the salty wind,
the building is weathering with and blending into it’s environment. The green roof has
been seeded with grasses and wild flowers. It is a living roof, growing organically and
offering a new habitat for insects and birds.

Layout

All bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchen and dining area are on the ground floor. The upstairs is a large and wonderful living space that enjoys breath taking countryside and sea views.

Sleeping Arrangements

1 Double Bedroom with en-suite shower room
2 Double Bedrooms
1 Twin Room

Exterior

From the great triangular window at the front of the main living space, you can easily spend a rainy day watching the weather blow across the water and spotting all sorts of wildlife. The field to the rear is in the process of ‘rewilding’ with the aim of creating a wild flower meadow to encourage biodiversity. Some new, young trees have been planted in the field and we hope to watch them flourish and provide a home for new wildlife in the years to come.
