Delightful Cottage With Panoramic Sea Views near St.Davids
Ffynnon Ddofn is situated in a quiet lane, mid-way between St.Davids and Fishguard, with superb views over 18 miles of coastline and within easy each of all that the beautiful Pembrokeshire coast has to offer. The cottage has a lovely bright kitchen, and open plan living room, with vaulted beamed ceilings and picture window. There are 3 bedrooms, one with king size bed, one with twin beds, and the third with bunk beds. There is also a large games room with snooker, table tennis, darts and children's toys, and a pleasant, secure garden surrounded by fields. With central heating and double glazing, the cottage is warm and comfortable to be in all year round and there are stunning views from the main living rooms and garden. There's always something to see - the ferry going across to Ireland (day trips available) - a buzzard hovering - the Strumble Head lighthouse flashing. There are safe sandy beaches nearby which are never crowded, even in peak season, rock pools, interesting little coves and fishing harbours and wonderful walks. A footpath along the lane winds down to Aber Felin beach, with its ancient mill stones, and the Coastal Path, which follows some of its most spectacular scenery here. The cliffs are carpeted with flowers in spring and in early autumn there are seal pups on the beaches below. The cottage is available to book Saturday to Saturday, although other arrangements can be agreed out of season.

The location was perfect, the views spectacular and the cottage gorgeous.
A great relaxing break in a perfect accommodation with lots of options to travel out. Even with the occasional storm, there was plenty to keep the girls entertained!
Lovely spacious cottage equipped with everything required for a comfortable stay. The garden was private, and my children loved playing in the barn. Location was peaceful yet within easy access to beaches and local amenities.

Fantastic Holiday
Just back from our first visit to Pembrokeshire and wow, I dont think we could have picked a better location for peace, tranquility and easy access to the various places we visited. The cottage had everything we needed and more and the secure garden was perfect for our 2 dogs, one of whom was having his first holiday and he loved it!!
We will definitely be back, maybe autumn/winter to enjoy the cosiness of the cottage and possibly a nice log fire.

A great place to stay!
We had some very Welsh weather which was a shame after the summer we’ve had, but what can you expect when two major storms are passing by? We ate out quite a bit, met up with friends and had some good walks in the sunshine too. The cottage was absolutely ideal, and lacks nothing in terms of equipment and facilities. It was very quiet and comfortable, with a lovely view occasionally! Also, it has the largest collection of books on Wales I’ve seen!

Enjoyable stay
Overall an enjoyable stay, children enjoyed the games room. The garden appeared much larger in pictures which was disappointing. I don't recommend the walk to the local beach but there are plenty of lovely beaches within a short driving distance. Property is spacious and has everything you need supplied. Only down side is that the cleanliness of the property was poor.

I'm pleased to hear that overall you enjoyed your holiday.
Most people love walking along the lanes to AberFellin but it is a cove to explore, rather than a sandy beach. Also a good place to start a coast path walk.
As to cleanliness - we have had workmen at the cottage so I can only think there may have been more dust in the air than would be expected, and I will speak to our cleaner to address any problem.
Thankyou for your comments.
This is the second time we have stayed at this property, it is a beautiful location with stunning views. Having two teenage girls, an elderly Mother and two small dogs, this location has something for us all. For the girls there are long coastal walks and beautiful beaches where they can play and swim. The barn is ideal for rainy days where they can play table tennis or pool…… it’s also really handy for cleaning grubby dogs! The dogs have a safe contained garden and miles of lovely walks! For my Mum, there is a large window looking out to sea which she just loves to be able to sit safely and enjoy the view. For me, coming back here to Wales always feels like coming home.

Thankyou so much for your lovely words! Really pleased to hear that you all enjoy staying at our cottage.
Zeer prettig verblijf compleet ingerichte cottage. Direct vanuit cottage diverse mooie wandelingen mogelijk. St Davids en Whitesands op twintig mi uten met auto. Tevens regelmatige bus verbonding op 2km. Porthgain en Coastpath uniek!
We are a family of 6 and we stayed for a week. The location is spot on. Close to a number of stunning beaches and a really nice pub just a 15/20min stroll away. The garden was perfect as was the games room!
We very much enjoyed our week in this very comfortable and well appointed cottage. It is very well placed for access to the remoter parts of the Pembrokeshire coastline. We couldn't take our grandchildren but they would have loved the barn!
but we made this property work for us. What we really liked is that much thought had gone in to the comfort of the guests and we found the cottage to be very well equipped with information, games and home comforts.

I did warn you when booking that the cottage wasn't suitable for someone confined to a wheelchair as the doors aren't quite wide enough and there is a small step. Thankyou for taking the time to write a review, however, and I'm glad that you enjoyed your stay.
We loved our stay here, the cottage is very cosy and the games barn was fabulous for the kids. Easy access to some fabulous coastal walks and bays for swimming

So pleased you enjoyed your stay, and to hear that you made good use of the games barn!
A lovely cottage in a really beautiful part of Wales. Comfortably enough space for a family of five (3 kids aged 15, 13 and 8) and a dog. Clean and well kitted-out with everything we needed for a lovely week of coastal walks and trips to the beach. Also, Bryony was a pleasure to deal with. We'd definitely consider a return trip.

Thank you for your kind comments. So pleased you enjoyed your week Ben and really hope you will stay with us again.
Lovely quiet property near the coastal path not a modern property - could do with a new mattress on the double bed - but if you a looking for a quiet location with easy access to the coastal path then this is great.
super communication with owner.
We had a wonderful week here.

Really pleased to hear you enjoyed your week.
Parts of the cottage date back several hundred years so it certainly isn't a modern property, but we replace different furnishings and fittings every year so thankyou for drawing our attention to the mattress.
We have stayed in many properties in this part of the world and this one was amongst the very best. The kitchen and dining/living room both have picture windows with lovely views of the sea, Strumble Head the the ferries heading to and from Ireland. From the back garden there were wonderful views of the sunset towards St David's.
A short walk down the hill and you're on the Pembrokeshire coastal path. Porthgain was a five minute drive away.
The cottage was warm and clean and was provided with everything you might need. It would be ideal for a family with enough beds for two adults and four children, as well as a cot, in three bedrooms. There's also a games room at the top of the garden to keep the kids (and adults) amused.
It was a wonderfully peaceful spot to get away to in these troubled times (2020) and I can think of few better places to be or stay.

Thank you for taking the time to review us and I'm so happy to hear that you really enjoyed being at our cottage.
We enjoyed a wonderful week at Bryony's cottage. It's in a fantastic spot, with so many things to do just a short drive away. Beautiful beaches, cliff-top walks, the city of St. David's and neolithic monuments are all close by. The house itself is very warm and cosy with everything we needed at hand. There's also a huge games room out the back which would be brilliant for kids (or big kids!). We had a small issue with the internet but Bryony was on hand and fixed it promptly and with minimal fuss. We'd love to stay there again!

Thank you for your lovely comments. I'm so pleased you enjoyed your stay, especially as no one has been able to travel anywhere for months.
Look forward to welcoming you again.
We had a great 2 weeks here in August and have just returned from a short winter break, finding the cottage very warm and welcoming. Owners have thought of everything you might need and more. The views are superb and the games room a real bonus.
There are some beautiful beaches and we found the coast path simply stunning.
Have already booked again for this summer.

Think you may mean Penparc.
At present our property is only advertised as having 2 bedrooms - the 3rd will be upgraded to the standard of the rest of the cottage by next summer and meanwhile is a very useful place to store suitcases, shopping etc. It also has 2 bunk beds if anyone extra wants to stay.

Tucked away for perfect tranquility
Never been to this part of the country before, but certainly will again.
The silence was especially noticeable at night, as were the star filled sky's.
We were blessed with perfect weather which always helps, but the cottage is very well appointed with plenty to do even on the wettest of days.
So much depends on what you are seeking for a holiday but for us there was plenty of walking to do for us and our springer Poppy + there were plenty of decent dog friendly beaches. The whole area made us feel welcome. A big thanks to Bryony who was a perfect host

Our second stay here. As ‘Arnie’ says, we’ll be back.
This is our second visit to this wonderful cottage. Whilst there the conversation was “what month do we come back next year” We’re there as a family of four, with our three dogs who love it as much as we do. From visiting the local beaches, a walk to the local pub for lovely food, where they welcome our dogs or just chilling with the amazing views, it’s perfect. We cannot recommend this cottage enough, Home from Home.

Cosy cottage with wonderful views.
We had a great week despite some awful weather! There is a lovely walk from the cottage across the fields to a tiny rocky cove with caves and crashing waves. The games room came in very handy, as did the tumble dryer! The cottage was spotlessly clean and warm when we arrived, and we loved being able to sit and watch the ever changing sea and sky. I would definitely recommend this cottage to a friend.

About the host
Hosted by Bryony Rees White
We live on the East coast of England, have 4 children, now grown up, and a Cavalier King Charles spaniels.
Why they chose this property
My husband is originally from Wales and we spent so many lovely family holidays in Pembrokeshire that we decided to buy our own cottage.
We particularly like this area from St. Davids to Fishguard, with its beautiful beaches and spectacular coastline, as it is quiet and peaceful but not isolated. Everyone is friendly and there are some amazing places to visit, plus the coast path is easily accessible and provides fantastic walking.
What makes this property unique
The cottage is in a great position and we have views over miles of coastline from the main living rooms. It's in a quiet lane and there is a footpath down to the beach which takes about 15 minutes.
We also have a large games room in the barn where we have some noisy table tennis tournaments! The garden is secure and surrounded by fields where we can watch the yellowhammers and skylarks. Great place to see the beautiful sunsets, too.
