The house was comfortable and warm, with lovely views and perfectly good facilities (4g signal is good so didn't miss wifi). It was nice to come back to during those days when the weather was wild. Everything I needed in a place to stay. Not too far from Castlebay so easy to get food and fuel. Will definitely stay there again if available next time I am on Barra. Barra itself was fantastic and a very friendly place, with some stunning coastline to explore from the sea when the weather allowed!
Lovely, cosy home from home. House was lovely and clean and had everything we needed. Check in was simple and host was very helpful with the small issue of having no WiFi. Will definitely be back in the future.
Excellent cottage -only required to deal with woodworm in double bedroom - did not want to take them home - would recommend the cottage once woodworm removed
We had a fab stay at this property. Great location and ideal base to explore. We stayed with our 2 dogs and the garden was secure for them. The beds were super comfortable which was great as there is nothing worse than a bad nights sleep when you are on holiday! The sofas were comfortable too. We found phone signal very sketchy and were unable to access netflix or prime but too be honest we were not there to watch telly so not really an issue! Kitchen was well equipped but did find there was a lack of storage for our food items and would also have liked a splash back behind the cooker for ease of cleaning - just minor points. Our host was super accommodating when our ferry was delayed due to bad weather and told us we could stay on at the property if we needed to which did take a weight off! All in all a great stay at this property.
Beautiful location. Polished wood staircase dangerous and does not meet HSE. Terrible Mould in bathroom - does not meet HSE. Cobwebs in upper bedroom with skirting boards not cleaned. Kitchen surfaces only cleaned where 'bare'- underneath appliances, filthy. Bedding underproduction filthy and stained. Bedding sheets old and threadbare with bobbling. Electrical connection appear not to have been PAT Tested - multiple appliances plugged to extension leads. Outside area steps very dangerous - do not meet HSE at all. Parking for larger 4WD vehicle meaning car door restricted opening onto grass bank. Serious attention needed to meet Safety Standards. As the friend of David, I had a serious fall from the staircase which resulted in being airlifted to Stornoway Hospital and immediate Surgery. Were it not for the excellent service of the Barra Ambulance service I could have easily bled to death.
