Caretta Caretta sea turtles nest on our beaches, and the town centre is home to the only sea turtle rescue and rehabilitation centre along the entire Ionian coast. A visit to the village of Brancaleone Superiore, with its rock caves, is well worth it. The cave church of the Tree of Life is simply stunning. Just a few kilometres away are beautiful historic villages, such as Gerace and the stunning city of Reggio Calabria, home to the Riace Bronzes and a waterfront considered “the most beautiful kilometre in Italy.” Brancaleone and its surroundings are renowned for their culinary excellence and are home to bergamot, the “green gold of Calabria.”
