About this property

Coastguard Cottage - set in an elevated position with fabulous views overlooking Portloe

Experience - The Area... Set in an attractive white washed terrace of former 1850's Coastguard cottages, Coastguard Cottage is an end of terrace property tucked away against the cliffside in the older part of Portloe and benefits from an enclosed front garden which overlooks the valley and village.  In addition, elevated coastal and sea views can be enjoyed from a grassy outside space which belongs to the property at the rear. Coastguard Cottage is an ideal base for keen walkers with the South West Coast Path passing through the village. The historic shell fishing village of Portloe has a pub and the Lugger Hotel located down on the slipway welcomes non-residents to partake in their famous crab sandwiches!  The village of Veryan, famous for its round houses is just a couple of miles away.  Beaches around the Roseland Peninsula such as Pendower and Carne (even during the summer months) remain relatively uncrowded. The pretty villages of Portscatho, Gorran Haven and Mevagissey are all located along the Peninsula and are within a 30 minute drive of Portloe. Stay - The Accommodation... The property is entered from the rear with one deep step up into the entrance hallway with original slate flooring and hooks to hang your coats. Off to the right of the hallway is the kitchen with the same attractive, original slate flooring and selection of usual appliances to make your stay even more relaxing.  Straight ahead is the comfortable living and dining room with ample dining and easy seating, a wood burner for additional heating and Smart television.  A glass paned door leads out to the pretty paved garden at the front from where you can enjoy the views. Upstairs you will find the two bedrooms and family bathroom WC with bath, enclosed shower and wash basin.  The double bedroom is to the front of the property with a view out across the countryside and coastline. The triple bedroom with two single beds and a cabin bed is to the rear of the property.  Both bedrooms have exposed wooden floors and provide hanging and drawer space.  Cars may be parked in the village car park which is just 30 yards away. Payment is by way of placing a donation in the honesty box located in the car park.   Don't forget... - Parking close by in village car park - The steps which lead up to a grass area at the rear are steep and this area is not enclosed so not  - Sorry, this property does not accept pets - Cot and highchair not provided - This property accommodates a maximum of 5 people
