Our Lodge is located next to the Jonsrud Viewpoint. The viewpoint offers telescopes and expansive views of Mt. Hood and the Sandy River Valley, as well as the “Devil’s Backbone,” a ridge named by pioneers who were traveling on the Oregon Trail. The site has been considered one of the “best views in Oregon” (although we think that the view off of our back deck is better!!!

Scenic View Lodge: Perfect for Gatherings
Designed for unforgettable moments, this spacious home features a dream kitchen and natural gas BBQ. The open layout connects the living, dining, and outdoor spaces seamlessly.

The deck offers a gas fire pit, hot tub, and dining area with stunning views of the Sandy River and Mt. Hood.

Enjoy 3 king bedrooms with views and 2 bunk rooms with games for kids. Centrally located for Portland events, Mt. Hood skiing, hiking, and fishing.

The Lodge is located just under a mile from downtown Sandy. You can easily walk or bike to get to town but our sometimes inclement weather makes these options a bit less desireable. Once in the downtown area it is very walkable with lots of boutique businesses to explore.

please note that there is no smoking on or around the property including the outdoor deck. Also please note that there are no loud parties allowed as we have neighbors and want to be respectful of their peace and quiet.

The view is amazing! Every day we would unwind in the hot tub taking in the beautiful surroundings. House is spacious and clean. Check-in and check-out were smooth. Hosts were very responsive throughout our stay.

The view from the property is absolutely amazing. Spent most of our time on the back patio looking at the river and Mt. Hood. The house is a little outdated, and the air conditioning did not work upstairs, luckily the time of year we went allowed for us to have windows open to let in the cool air at night

Beautiful home and great location

We had a wonderful and quick stay here after our boys snowboarding camp nearby. It was very comfortable, and we loved the back deck (view, hot tub and fire table)! There were plenty of bedrooms for our large family, and our teenagers also enjoyed walking to town. Thanks for sharing this beautiful home with us!

Overall, we loved our stay. It took 4 days until we could see Mt. Hood due to clouds. When it appeared it was spectacular!There were a few quirks like the door lock intermittently didn't open. Site managers helped within minutes. Luckily we had brought a wine bottle opener, it would be great to have one on site. The kitchen had everything we needed. The refrigerator is in rather rough shape, cracked plastic bins, etc. Beds were very comfortable. Overall we loved our stay!

Stunning views cozy accommodations

We loved out time at this house. We couldnt get over the views. The hot tub in the evenings were icing on the beautiful cake. Would come back for the view alone but the house was cozy and accommodating for my family of 6 with small children.

This property is absolutely amazing! The view from the deck is breathtaking! We watched the rise each morning behind Mt. Hood and each morning was slightly different from the one before. I would never get tired of that view! The hot tub was also great... especially as night came on and the bats started their acrobatics. The communication with the host was great! They checked up on us via VRBO, e-mail, and text to make sure we were having a good time with no problems. The kitchen was very well stocked and had everything we needed for our meals. The AC works great and keeps the huge house very comfortable on cold nights and warm days. Everything about the place was great! Waking up with the sun rising in the east behind the mountains was awesome!! I would recommend this VRBO to everyone!!

This rental was exactly what we were hoping for. The photo of the vista views on the back deck is an accurate portrayal of what you'll see on the deck. The spacious deck is the perfect spot to chill and hang out on an afternoon. Nice kitchen.

The Scenic View was perfect for our family gathering. Plenty of space to be together and yet carve out spots for those special conversations. One of our 11 year olds took stock last night: the group in the hot tub, the fire pit group, the puzzle masters at the table, the couch potatoes just chilling and talking, the reading teenagers sprawled across the bed. And always with Mt Hood and the river in our sights. Our hosts were super responsive. We loved this place! The kitchen was so big and we used every bit of it! Again perfect for feeding the whole gang. Shout out to Joe's Donuts from the Colorado, California and Washington families.

Beautiful view of Mount Hood

Every morning we had an absolutely beautiful view of Mount Hood. The location of the house was great for day excursions. We visted Columbia gorge one day and Mt Hood and wineries another. We even drove to Astoria and Cannon beach on one of our day trips. The owners were quick to respond when we had trouble unlocking the front door. Dissues with it aftertrips.

Comfortable with lots of space

This house has plenty of room and an awesome view. Was surprised by lack of finishing touches on this house though. Don't expect to really cook here as the kitchen cabinets are pretty empty outside your basic cups and plates. Adding a cutting board and some bowls would be a great addition. We had a great, relaxing stay (girls weekend). Hottub is small but clean. Owners were quick to communicate when needed.

The Best Part of Portland

Absolute amazing view. First off, can’t explain the beauty of the view. It was breathtaking. Several people said it was the best part of the trip. Comfortable beds, fun hot tub, plenty of towels, and a great host. It was so easy to figure out check in and the host was so understanding about everything. The house was well-stocked with plenty of towels, which was a big plus for our group. The AC kept us perfectly cool during our stay, making it a comfortable retreat from the summer heat. The beds were incredibly soft, ensuring that everyone got a restful night's sleep. We had the most amazing time in the entire world at this VRBO. The combination of the fantastic amenities and the unbeatable view made this a trip to remember. We can't wait to come back!

The view is so much better in person

The highlight of this property is really the view. Mt Hood is just gorgeous, and the property also sits over a bend in the Sandy River with forest all around. You can even see what I think is Mt St Helens on a sunny day. The deck, hot tub, fire pit, and the small private deck are all just incredibly places to take on the view and the many birds. Even on a cloudy morning, this view is breathtaking. The property was clean, well furnished, beds were comfortable, there were plenty of towels. We rent homes fairly often and are always pleased to have a well stocked kitchen - this house was fantastic in that regard! I loved the bunk bed setup as there was more sleeping room available for the group. The only downside was the property is right off of the main road which is a little noisy and at night, there are lots of lights of cars driving by. I think curtains in front would help a lot with this. Beautiful property and we hope to be back! 10am checkout is too early, hence one lower star, although the host graciously gave us an extra hour as no one was checking in. However, to really get the value of what is being paid for, reasonable check in and check out times should be provided, not the absolute minimum.

We stayed here so we could get married at Silver Falls State Park! Very clean, kitchen fully stocked, hot tub clean, used the grill also and outdoor fire pit. Beds were soft and so comfy! We loved the view of Mt Hood and the river. Absolutely breathtaking and I hope we’re able to return!

Our trip to Sandy, OR was for my niece’s wedding. The view from the back of the house was absolutely spectacular!! We would suggest a stronger internet service. With two teenagers and two adults trying to work remotely, it was a struggle. The kitchen could use additional basic supplies and cookware. These sound like complaints, but they are merely suggestions. We opted for eating out most meals and enjoying the surroundings! We would definitely stay in this VRBO again!! Thank you!

All about that view

The stunning view really does get you once you walk in. Some parts of the home were damaged upon arrival, such as a bathroom mirror, bathroom window, and the footboard in one of the bedrooms. The deck could also use some TLC. Downstairs was very nice and comfortable with ample seating for visiting family (and don't forget that view). The driveway is wider than it is long, which was a little unexpected but we managed to fit our vehicles in just fine. The hot tub was a nice perk, though it was unfortunately not hot our first night because it was emptied or topped off before our arrival and it didn't seem super clean. Overall a fine visit. We booked it mainly for the view and expectations were exceeded in that department.
