About this property
Luxury Bell Tent Camping on a Welsh Hill Farm
Our Bell Tent sits in a secluded corner away from the main farm buildings within its own fenced enclosure. You have your own access and can come and go as you please.
The Bell Tent has a double bed, blanket box, two chairs and a coffee table. The double bed has a wool baavet and 100% cotton linen. An additional single folding bed can be added on request. The bell tent is also set up with electric lighting and a spare electrical point for guest use.
In addition to the Bell Tent there is a canvas dining canopy sheltering a 2 ring table top gas stove, fridge, table and chairs. A full set of basic kitchen equipment is provided in a secure lidded plastic box. Electrical lighting is also installed under the canopy.
If you’re looking to have a camp fire to toast your marshmallows on we have provided a large fire pit with log seating. We suggest guests bring their own charcoal or fire wood for the fire-pit however a bucket of charcoal can be purchased on the farm if needed (£5).
A heated shower room and toilet (wet room) designated for exclusive use of the bell tent guests is situated on the yard in the main barn (towels are provided).
A water tap is installed at the side of the enclosure (not for drinking unless boiled). UV treated water can also be collected from the shower room or the farm’s laundry room.
There are sixty acres of pasture, ancient woodland, larch plantation and rough bracken and wetland meadows. It is home five British White cows and five horses. Guests are welcome to explore the farm and beyond along the rights of way leading from Gilfach’s land. There are wonderful views of Pen-y-Fan from the top of the farm and a stream flowing along the lower border, there is a mass flora and fauna to see with red kites and buzzards circling up and down the valley. The area’s Dark Sky status and the lack of light pollution makes Gilfach ideal for great stargazing.
