About this property
Pooles Farm Cottage - Three Bedroom House, Sleeps 4
Head to this delightful part of Suffolk and unwind with family or friends. This two-storey cottage makes an ideal base for anyone looking to explore Mid Suffolk and the heritage coast, with easy access to the A14 and Ipswich (12 miles). The village of Stowupland has a strong community feel, with traditional pubs, a local shop and footpaths that lead you through scenic landscapes – making this a great destination for walkers and cyclists. The market town of Stowmarket is just 2 miles, where you’ll find a choice of shops and places to eat and drink. The beautiful Medieval village of Lavenham is just 13.5 miles, while the Anglo-Saxon royal burial site of Sutton Hoo is 20.5 miles. Bury St Edmunds, 17 miles, is known as Suffolk’s foodie capital, with everything from pub favourites to fine dining, as well as a thriving arts scene and a wide range of shops.
Full of charm, the cottage has exposed beams, latched doors and steeply sloping ceilings on the first floor, with some small internal steps. Enter the small porch and hang your coats, before heading into the country-style kitchen/diner, where there’s a table for four set on the historic quarry-tiled floor. The chef of the holiday will find everything necessary in here to cook up a storm. Move through to the spacious lounge, where there’s a wood-burner-effect electric stove set into the exposed-brick chimney. Snuggle on the corner sofa and line up a box set on the Smart TV for a superbly relaxing evening. Completing the ground floor is the family bathroom, with a shower over the bath and WC. Take the cottage-style stairs to the first floor to find all three bedrooms, which feature lovely wooden beds and traditional sprung mattresses.
At the back of the property, the large, lawned garden is fully enclosed with a wooden fence and includes dining furniture as well as a charcoal BBQ. This is the perfect space for a meal in the sunshine or under the stars. There’s also another large garden at the front, which is not enclosed. You’ll have parking space on the drive for up to three cars.
