Rural cottage, log fire, indoor heated pool. A mile from cosy village pub
Yew Tree Cottage is a 16th Century timber framed cottage attached to a working small holding with sheep and chickens in quiet rural location. Sleeps five in two bedrooms, both en-suite, with views over the countryside. There is also a fold out double sofa bed in lounge for those who cannot manage steep stairs. There is a cot that can be erected in either bedroom. The cottage has central heating, with a wood burner in the lounge too. You also have use of the owners heated indoor pool. Dogs are welcomed, provided you can keep to some rules; which are to protect our animals, ensure your dog is safe and you can enjoy your stay. We ask that your dog is kept on a lead when outside as we have sheep, cats and chickens, and the garden is not fully enclosed. Your furry friend must sleep on their own bed downstairs, and must not be allowed on the furniture or upstairs. The cottage is an ideal base to explore medieval churches, Framlingham Castle, Woodbridge Tide Mill, Saxstead Mill, Snape Maltings, Minsmere Bird Sanctuary and much more. The seaside resorts of Southwold, Dunwich, Thorpeness, Aldeburgh and Felixstowe are all within 1-1.5 hour journey plus many local attractions such as Fynn Valley Golf Course at Witnesham, Easton Farm Park and Stonham Barns which has an Owl Sanctuary, Golf Course, Teapot manufacturer, shops, garden centre and cafe.

We loved our stay at Yew Tree cottage. It is so quiet and peaceful and the owners are lovely and friendly. Our children loved the pool and the sheep and chickens. We would love to come back soon!
Yew Tree Cottage was living 'Escape to the Country'. The accommodation was warm, comfortable and well equipped. Pauline and Norman are gracious hosts, and the use of the immaculate indoor pool is a marvelous bonus. Also, lovely countryside, plenty to do within a 30-to-45-minute drive, and a great pub with excellent food a mile away.
We have just had the best long weekend at Yew tree cottage!! Absolutely stunning location, gorgeous cottage that is well equipped with everything you could possibly need but what makes this stunning place is the hosts Pauline and Norman! Such lovely people that go above and beyond to make your stay memorable! We will definitely be returning.
it was perfectly situated for what we required, we enjoyed the stay the pool looked great although we never found the time to use it, but would go back there again, the only thing that was difficult was the stairway configuration to the upper floors, especially to the top one where my 88 year old mother in law slept, but it was only three nights so we managed it, the hosts are very freindly and reading through the visitors book gave us joy.
This trip away was so incredible relaxing asthe house was very warm and cosy with peaceful surrounding full of nature....we enjoyed an evening in by the fire and evening out at the local pub down the road which served great food. The host Pauline and Norman where so welcoming and helpfully in every way. We will be back for sure!
We had such a wonderful stay at Pauline and Norman’s gorgeous cottage. The countryside setting is absolutely beautiful, with a lovely garden all around that made it feel so peaceful and relaxing. Our boys especially loved feeding the chickens each morning and playing on the swing in the garden. It was also such a treat watching the sheep grazing in the field each day. Pauline and Norman were fantastic hosts, they showed us around when we arrived and made us feel so welcome straight away. The private pool was a huge hit with the kids (especially with the inflatables we brought along!), and the house had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. We enjoyed cooking in the evenings and spending time together playing board games. It’s a great base for exploring too, we loved visiting Southwold and Framlingham, including the castle. All in all, it was a really lovely, wholesome weekend and we’ve already booked to come back. We’re looking forward to it already!

Absolutely wonderful place to stay! Pauline and Norman were fantastic hosts too.The place was idyllic and extremely peaceful which is what we wanted. Lots of beautiful little villages, pubs and places to visit.Highly recommend
Just back from a 3 night stay at this beautiful cottage that I’m told dates back to the 15th century. Pauline and Norman are lovely hosts and have thought of everything to make your stay comfortable. Pauline had kindly left a pint of milk in the fridge along with some freshly laid eggs when we arrived. The property is stunning along with the grounds and the views on a sunny day are wonderful. Plenty to see and do within 20-30mins drive. It’s so peaceful at night, you can hear a pin drop, apart from the odd hooting owl. The use of the owners indoor pool is a plus and is kept exceptionally clean. Highly recommended for a short break.
Cold December weekend break, fireplace was ideal. Well looked after. Fresh eggs on site! Very comfortable stay, lovely host. Visited Sutton Hoo and local villages. Way too many nice pubs nearby. Excellent scenic location.
Very nice cottage. A few things to mention though. We had to wash anything we took from the kitchen cupboards. Weak pressure for shower top floor (great shower next to swimming pool). Restrictions on dogs could be mentioned up front. And our final evening was spoiled by a dog in the main house that barked non-stop for two hours. Once again however, a charming cottage in a good location.

Thank you for leaving a review and I am glad you enjoyed most of your stay.
I am sorry about the items in the kitchen, we'll ensure the cleaner checks through cupboards thoroughly.
I have since updated the website in relation to dogs and any rules, thank you for the feedback.
My sincere apologies about the dog barking, he was staying as a one off for the evening and we had gone out. I will bear this in mind if he is ever with us again.
We had a lovely stay here in August. The cottage was lovely and the surrounding area very peaceful. The pool was an excellent addition which we all enjoyed. Would highly recommend staying here.
Everything about the experience was wonderful — the location, the property, and our superb hosts. Pauline and Norman made our trip extra special with their kindness, warmth, and the lovely moments we shared over a glass (or two!). We’ll definitely be returning. If you’re looking for peace, tranquility, and cozy evenings by the fire, we can’t recommend this place highly enough.
The fire was lovely very warm, the pool was clean and well looked after. The host was kind and friendly and we met her sheep, chickens and cats and daughters dog. She made us feel welcome
Very quiet with a beautiful garden setting. The cottage was very charming. My wife and I stayed here for three nights while visiting ancestral sites in the vicinity. Pauline and Norman were very kind.
The cottage was lovely and set in beautiful gardens. It had everything you could want and more.Pauline and Norman were great hosts and made us very welcome.I would highly recommend staying here.Thank you for a lovely break.
What a wonderful place to stay with very lovely and accommodating hosts. We spent a long weekend here with young children where could go swimming whenever we wanted and the owners let my children bottle feed the lambs. A perfect stay in the countryside with many placed to visit locally. Highly recommend
