About this property
Hillside Hideout - One Bedroom House, Sleeps 2
Escape to a romantic shepherd’s hut nestled on a peaceful working farm. With far-reaching views of Deepdale and the rolling countryside of Derbyshire it’s the perfect setting for couples seeking calm, connection, and countryside charm just a stone’s throw from the traditional village of Taddington. Just 4 miles from the elegant spa town of Buxton, you’ll find boutique shops, restaurants, and seasonal events to enjoy. Or visit beautiful Bakewell (4 miles) – the Gateway to the Peak – famous for the Bakewell Pudding and home to several upmarket shops and eateries. Step outside the door to discover the Monsal Trail walking and cycling route taking in tunnels, stepping stones and the famous Monsal Head Viaduct – ideal for hand-in-hand rambles or hire bikes to take in the breathtaking scenery. Venture further to visit the iconic estates of Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall, and Hardwick Hall, all steeped in romance and history.
Step into the shepherd’s hut and feel instantly at ease. A comfortable double bed invites restful nights, while large windows frame uninterrupted views across the rolling Derbyshire hills. Unwind in front of the Smart TV or simply enjoy the stillness of the countryside after a day exploring. The well-equipped kitchen has everything you need for light meals or leisurely breakfasts, with a small breakfast bar perfectly positioned by the window to take in the scenery as you dine. Completing the interior is a well-appointed shower room for refreshing at the start and end of each day away.
Step outside to your private patio area, where a table and chairs offer a perfect, scenic spot to dine alfresco or sip on peaceful morning coffees. On starry nights, gather round the fit pit and soak in the splendid views. Guests will also benefit from private parking for one car.
