About this property

Beautiful Manor House, with 400m2, very private, also extremely well located for excursions both up and down the Costa Verde being about 120km from Spain and 20km from Oporto. If you like dining beside the River Douro at Ribeira, 20 minutes it's how long it takes once you get use to the roads. Outside there is a 10 x 5m swimming pool, toilet, shower and a large covered sitting area, which is useful during peak sun hours where you can enjoy your meals and watch the kids in the pool. If you prefer the beach, Praia D'AREIA is only 2km down the road where you also find small shops, restaurants and supermarket. Bigger supermarkets, restaurants, boutiques etc are available 5km in the town of Vila do Conde, including the famous 'MARKET' on Friday morning. The grounds with 10000m2 are ideal and safe for children to run around. There are also orange, lemon and fruit trees in the garden from which, subject to season, you can help yourself and make lovely juices. Please note that prices are based on 10 people, extra charge of €150pw per person upto 5 and open loft room, under 3 are free.
WE CAN ARRANGE FOR SURF LESSONS IN THE AREA: €40 pp. The class includes 2 hours of surfing, with all material included (suit and board), and transport by car from the accommodation to the beach.We also can arrange for a wine taste experience in Porto with tapas €45 per person. Includes Tasting of 3 White, 3 Red and 3 Port Wines with Tipycal Tapa. We now have the METRO near us which can take you to various places, Airport, Vila do Conde, Porto city, and the F.C.Porto stadium Estadio do Dragao. The nearest station is ARVORE or VARZIELA on Line B ( red line) and it's 10min walk from the house. TRANSFERS AND CATERING SERVICE AVAILABLE ON REQUEST, PLEASE ASK.

Great family Gathering

We had a wonderful stay at the property. Ana and her family were very accommodating and communication was great! Food and drinks greeted us at the property!! All needs were catered for and the images online do not do the property justice - far better. So spacious and full of amenities/equipment. The garden and pool were just wonderful with fruit trees in the orchard which can be picked if in season. Lovely south facing garden. The table tennis was a great hit too and the smart TV very useful for the evenings. Near to two metro lines. Beach about a 30 minute walk with some small supermarkets along the way. Went into Porto one day and into Povoa de Varzim at the end of the line another day. To see further afield a car would be useful. Thank you Ana

Friends and family get away

We visited with friends, as two families of five. We had a broad range of children aged from 2 to 18 and there was plenty of space for us all to stay in comfort. The photos don’t do the pool and grounds justice, it was even better than we had expected! We didn’t hire a car but you do need a vehicle to get around. The metro is excellent and only a ten minute walk away and it’s very easy to get around by taxi with Uber. The beaches are excellent with fantastic surf. Don’t forget your wetsuit as it is the Atlantic! It is a family owned property and the help we received in planning our trip was exceptional. The welcome gifts provided us with a taste of Portugal and were a sign of the warmth of hospitality that we received throughout our trip.

Maison sur un grand terrain plat, aménagé avec piscine et jeux de plein air. Les aménagements intérieurs permettent de séjourner en toute intimité pour les familles, et , les espaces extérieurs permettent de profiter de la convivialité des rassemblements familiaux. Le tout dans un pays tout en douceur et avec des gens accueillants,simples et bon enfant.

Great Family Holiday 29th July

We absolutely loved our stay 29th July-5th Aug. We were a family of 8 - 5 adults and 3 kids. The Villa had everything you could need. The welcome from Joao was perfect and he even took the blokes to the local shop so we could get our essentials even though our flight had already been delayed. The welcome hamper was awesome and the hosts really do go above and beyond. We had fantastic days in the pool and awesome meals out in the local area and further a field. I would recommend hiring a car if you are considering it. We didn’t have a car and the local village was walkable and the metro was easy to get to but the local roads have narrow footpaths. Hiring a car definitely isn’t essential and we had a fabulous time without one. We used a Uber a couple of times and it was cheap to do. My mum has had a knee replacement so on the odd occasion we ubered instead of walked. We would recommend going to the local bakery (every morning for breakfast! Just around the corner), visit the local village, visit Vila do conde and visit Porto. We ate at some lovely places but our last night we went to Guia in Vila do conde. The meal probably cost the same amount as the rest of the week (food prices are really really reasonable) but it was worth it for the view and great food. The best bit of the whole holiday was definitely chilling by the pool and watching the kids play in the spectacular grounds. We will definitely be back. Thank you.
