Lovingly renovated in 2025, this historic cottage has been in the same family for generations, welcoming visitors to the coast for decades. Built into the hillside on a quiet stepped lane leading down to the beach, Hyde Away retains much of its original charm while offering a cosy, well-equipped retreat. Inside, the ground floor features the cosy lounge including a comfortable sofa and armchair gathered around the TV – the perfect spot to unwind, a bright open-plan kitchen and dining room, ideal for lazy breakfasts or home-cooked meals after a day at the beach. You’ll also find a handy utility room with a washing machine and a family bathroom with a shower over the bath. Upstairs, there are two inviting double bedrooms, both with built-in storage and soft furnishings that reflect the cottage’s characterful, coastal style.
Hyde Away is wonderfully placed for exploring all that Scarborough has to offer. Between the bustling South Bay, with its amusements, cafés, harbour, and arcades, and the quieter North Bay, home to the Sea Life Centre and the Open-Air Theatre, lies the majestic Scarborough Castle – its dramatic ruins perched on the headland offering panoramic views.
The town itself is rich in history and charm, with winding streets, traditional pubs, independent shops, and a thriving local food scene.
