Problems began from the booking process, and I should have paid closer attention to the red flags. This listing advertises unit as being in Santa Monica, map shows a location in Marina del Rey (Admiralty Way and Fiji Way)—two cities and miles apart. All confirmation and check-in emails lists the unit with a Marina del Rey address, while the actual unit is located on Broadway in Santa Monica. Check-in was supposed to be at 4:00 pm, but at 4:15—while I was on the way from the airport—I was told the unit wouldn’t be ready for another 90 minutes. Once inside, I was met with a dishwasher full of dirty dishes amongst other issues. The unit is in desperate need of significant repairs and thorough cleaning, far too many to fully describe here, but I will simply just list them and attached photos.Bathroom* Light not working over sink* Broken, unattached toilet seat* Shower/Tub constantly drips* Unattached trim piece on tub* Orange mold on the shower curtain* Disgustingly dirty vent* Sink drain plug missingKitchen* Refrigerator bulb out* Washer/Dryer broken door latch, will not closeLiving Room* Stained couch* Damaged console Bedroom* Curtain sheers have several stains on them, missing hooks* Missing bedsheets (No top sheet)Based on my experience, I strongly recommend avoiding this property—and frankly, any unit managed by this host. I’ve booked many VRBO properties over the years and never had such a negative experience. This was a hard but valuable lesson learned.
