First off, the property's management company was excellent. I received very prompt responses to each of my questions, sometimes at odd hours since I'm located in the U.S. The house itself is in a lovely, rural location. We were looking for a more casual rental and this property fit the bill. Kitchen was well outfitted and bedrooms on the main level were all very comfortable. There's a lovely view from the living room out to the sea.The bathroom is near the bedrooms and is a bit noisy if someone needs to use it in the middle of the night (some of the bedroom doors squeak and toilet continues to make noise for a long time after flushing). The water pressure in the shower was very low (not enough pressure for the women to wash their hair) and the shower curtain is a bit awkward. But overall, we were able to make due since we were only there for 3 nights. The weather while we were there (which was particularly warm), prevented us from using the upstairs rooms altogether because it was so hot. But I think they would be warm & cozy in the cooler months. In the end, the property met our expectations for the most part at a cost within our budget.

Hi Kathleen, thank you for your review and your feedback from your stay at Hughes Cottage. We will review your findings and ensure they are addressed. The weather has been fabulous for the last number of weeks, and it is not often in Connemara that we get to comment on the excessive heat. We are sorry this heat impacted the lack of use of the upstairs area; however, we will review this for moving forward. We hope to be able to welcome you back sometime soon. Kind regards, Patricia Connemara Holiday Lettings
