Sleeping up to eight guests, it’s the perfect choice for families, friends, or groups wanting a unique base to explore this wild and beautiful region.
Built from sustainably sourced cedar and powered by renewable energy, the Bothy combines modern comfort with a low-impact design. The open-plan kitchen, dining, and living area creates a bright, sociable space to gather, warmed by a cosy biomass stove. Wide windows and a veranda bring the outdoors in, with views stretching across the rugged countryside towards Scotland. Upstairs, the two bedrooms each feature two sturdy bunk beds, sleeping four per room. Every bunk is fitted with its own light and privacy curtain, creating a cosy, glamping-style experience where guests can enjoy their own space while still sharing the adventure. Each bedroom also benefits from an en suite toilet room, while a ground-floor toilet adds extra convenience. Please note that the stairs to the mezzanine are steep. From your doorstep, walking and cycling trails lead straight into the National Park and nearby Kielder Forest, where you may spot red squirrels, deer, wild goats, or even ospreys. For the more adventurous, Tarset Tor can help organise activities such as horse riding, fishing, quad biking, survival courses, and golf tours.
On-site facilities include a barbecue and fire pit, a woodland bar, sauna, drying room, cycle store and bike wash, bird hide, and a 5-a-side football pitch. Pets are welcome, WiFi is free, and all bedding and bed linen are provided.
