About this property
Stunning Castle/Stately Home next to Powis Castle. Sleeps 15 in 7 bedrooms.
Imagine waking up in a castle with your friends and family, in a luxurious bedroom. It doesn't have to be a dream, you can do just that!
The West Wing of Llanerchydol Hall is unique. It offers boutique accommodation in a magnificent, historical setting, being one of the great houses of the area alongside Powis Castle and Vaenor Park. Minutes from Welshpool, yet hidden from prying eyes.
Built in 1776, by a tea-trader and the local MP, Llanerchydol Hall has grounds situated in a Grade II* listed park, including a Japanese Garden. Anyone staying at the Grade II*Hall will enjoy breath-taking views, spectacular night skies, unspoilt by pollution. Powis Castle is 10 minutes by car or 40 minutes walk. The Welshpool and Llanfair steam railway is perfectly placed at the end of the mile long drive. The Snowdonia mountains are just an hour's drive away.
Specimen trees abound here-majestic Sequoias, Cedars and a Dawn Redwood which was thought to be extinct until it's rediscovery in the 1950s. In the summer, you can hear the steam train on its way, up the valley, hooting at Powis Castle. In the winter, it is the owl’s domain.
Be inspired by the architecture. Walk Glyndwr's Way/Offa's Dyke. Come and relax here. Breathe in the calm and still. Commune with nature.
The Raven Inn is a 20 minute walk through delightful Grade II* listed parkland, or a 5 minute drive. The long distance footpath, Glyndwr's Way is at the rear of the property. Offa's Dyke is 3.5 miles from the hall.
Perfect for celebrations and family gatherings, there are 2 kitchens, a double drawing room, an orangery. The large kitchen features a Lacanche Range and up to 15 people can be seated in either the kitchen or orangery. Two bedrooms may be configured as twins.
Perfectly accessible-4 hours from London. 1.5 hours from Birmingham. 2 hours from Manchester.
Llanerchydol Hall is a unique Castle Restoration Project in Mid-Wales. Please note that the restoration of the hall is an ongoing labour of love, and there may be signs of this during your stay. These will not impact on your enjoyment of the hall, and help us to continue to preserve an important part of our heritage and Welsh history.
