This beautifully renovated Georgian house on Midsummer Common sleeps up to 6 and offers a stylish stay in the heart of Cambridge. Set in a famous terrace overlooking the River Cam, it’s flooded with natural light thanks to its east-west orientation. The home spans four split levels with dedicated spaces for relaxing, working, and socialising. Few residences in the city centre offer such charm, comfort, and an unbeatable location.
Enjoy life minutes away from all of Cambridge`s historical sites and bustling cafes, restaurants, pubs and cafes. Stroll across the largest green area right in the city centre and on your doorstep: Midsummer Common and Jesus Green, both running along the River Cam. Or just settle in at home, take a rest from the world, but look out from your house`s many windows onto magnificent trees and open pastures (yes, the Common is still true to its name!).
Bask in unencumbered natural light reaching you at all times of the day. Let the morning sun awake you in the upstairs bedroom and welcome you in the kitchen dining area or on the private terrace. Relax in the afternoon sun and sunset in the lounge or the large downstairs bedroom. The house is a typical Cantabrigian rarity - it was built and used for centuries as faculty housing for Peterhouse, one of Cambridge`s oldest colleges.
The painstakingly preserved Georgian is split across six levels, ensuring absolute privacy and timeless coziness in every room. Smart home features, underfloor heating and highest-spec electronics have been added to ensure maximum modern convenience.
Main Reception Room: Located at the front of the home with views of Midsummer Common, the lounge is bathed in afternoon light – an ideal spot to unwind and watch the day pass by.
Kitchen & Dining: The dine-in kitchen sits toward the rear of the property and opens directly onto a private terrace. Morning light fills this space, perfect for breakfast or coffee with a view of the surrounding trees.
Bedrooms: Bedroom 1 (upper level): Bright and airy, with morning sun pouring in through the east-facing windows. Bedroom 2 (lower level): A spacious bedroom positioned to catch the afternoon and evening light with views of Midsummer Common The Living Room can also be used as a bedroom
Bathroom: Modern fittings, underfloor heating, and a clean design complement the traditional character of the home. Bathtub and shower.
Smart Features: The property includes integrated smart home technology and high-spec electronics throughout for added ease and comfort.
Outdoor Space
A private rear terrace offers a peaceful outdoor spot for morning coffee or evening drinks. For an afternoon drink, a stone bench sits under wisteria and among the flowers in the front garden for those wishing to catch the sunset.
The property is set within one of Cambridge’s most iconic terraces, a peaceful row of Georgian homes overlooking Midsummer Common. This location places you within minutes of the city’s best cafés, restaurants, and historic sites. Jesus Green is just across the street, offering even more green space in the heart of the city.
Despite its central location, the house feels tucked away thanks to its uninterrupted views of open pastures and mature trees. The Common remains a true common – complete with grazing cattle in the summer months – bringing nature right to your doorstep.

Great location, very quiet and comfortable stay. For the price, we were slightly disappointed on some fronts such as lack of dishcloths / tea towels, basic toiletries in the bathroom and coffee pods etc. but overall enjoyed our stay and a lovely home.
