About this property
Casa Bisua - Four Bedroom Villa, Sleeps 8
A fabulously secluded home set amidst verdant woods, Casa Bisua gazes out over the Gulf of Valinco and the blue seas beyond. Its easy-living interiors commune with panoramic terraces and extensive grounds offer plenty of space for guests to spread out. Although a series of idyllic beaches are an easy drive away, once settled in you might prefer to stay put and focus on the lovely pool and the breathtaking views.
Inside: accommodation at Casa Bisua is all on one floor.
The main entrance leads straight into the heart of the home, a generously proportioned open-concept communal space that is filled with light and a sensation of well-being. On the left, serving a dining table, is a sleek, well-equipped contemporary kitchen with a bar area. Next to this is a sitting area, furnished with a comfy L-shaped sofa. A wall of fully extendible sliding glass pocket doors opens up to allow a frictionless flow out onto the terrace, while at the same time bringing in the bewitching views of the Gulf of Valinco.
An opening near the sitting area leads into a hallway and a partly glazed corridor, off which are the four bedrooms:
• the main bedroom, a double with glorious sea views, an en-suite shower room, and two sets of sliding glass doors opening out onto the wraparound terraces
• a double bedroom with sliding glass doors accessing the pool area
• two double-twins, both with sliding glass doors accessing the gardens
• a shared shower room
Outside: Casa Bisua sits in sizeable grounds that flow over several levels and merge with the surrounding woodland. No matter where you are, the wonderful views of the Gulf of Valinco, with its sparkling blue waters, its hilly green shoreline and its white beaches are always present.
A wide expanse of terrace wraps around the house and is accessed, in its various iterations, from all the rooms. Running along the front, outside the open-concept communal space and the main bedroom, is a dreamy and well-shaded al fresco dining area, the perfect spot for long, lazy, sea-view lunches and convivial dinners under the Corsican stars.
The terrace flows past a panoramic sitting area round to the side of the house, where, accessed directly from two of the bedrooms, is the pool terrace. Furnished with stylish loungers and featuring an alluring infinity pool, this is the ideal spot in which to relax, enjoy the sunshine and gaze out at those enchanting views.
Steps lead down from the main terrace to the gardens, where there is a petanques pitch, a viewing point furnished with a bench, and, under the shady cantilevered extension of the terrace above, a table tennis table.
Casa Bisua features a fantastic infinity pool, offering swimmers stunning views while in the pool. There is a drop off the infinity side so we recommend children are supervised at all times. Please refer to our general safety page if you would like more information about infinity pools.
Due to the nature of the property including terraces low walls and several drops around the grounds, children must be supervised at all times.
This property is surrounded by countryside, some of which is unfenced and may include drops or steep slopes. We therefore recommend that younger children are supervised by an adult when exploring the grounds.
Casa Bisua sits atop its very own hill, immersed in the vibrant greenery that so characterises the interior of the Valinco area.
Down on the coast below are a host of idyllic sandy beaches. The closest to Casa Bisua are Piscona, Capicciolo, Taravu, Campitellu and Porto Pollo, all of which are between 8 and 20 minutes' drive. The last one offers water sports facilities.
In terms of shopping, restaurants and amenities, the buzzing harbour town of Propriano is just a 20-minute drive away. Its beach has plenty of water sports facilities and its marina is a pleasant spot in which to while away an hour or two, sipping a coffee or dining by the water.
Just a few kilometres from Propriano, at the southwestern tip of the Gulf of Valinco, is Campomoro. Surveyed from on high by a Genoese tower, the little village boasts an elegant arc of golden sand, electric blue waters, and a cluster of bars, cafés and restaurants. It is also a great spot for walkers, with numerous trails crisscrossing the unspoilt verdant hills that rise up to create a headland some 400m above the sea. The coastline running west and south from the village, meanwhile, is home to numerous idyllic little bays and tiny beaches, most of which are only accessible by boat. A day spent sailing from one to another, dropping anchor and diving into the irresistible waters is time well spent indeed.
For a sense of Corsica's multi-millennial history, a visit to the nearby megalithic site of Filitosa is not to be missed. Inhabited more or less continuously from the 9th millennium BCE until the 3rd century BCE, the site's olive groves, woodland and open countryside host a wide variety of archaeological finds from carved menhir statues to Bronze Age stone towers and much more besides.
Some 35 minutes away to the east, meanwhile, is the panoramically positioned, mediaeval town of Sartène, whose pretty labyrinth of streets gives an idea of Corsican life away from the coastline. Similarly interesting is the village of Olmeto, whose coloured houses and setting on a steep forested hill make for an evocative atmosphere.
Just over an hour's drive northwest will take you Corsica's capital, Ajaccio. The town is well worth a visit, not least so you can say that you've been to the birthplace of the great Napoleon.
About 75km to the southeast, meanwhile, is Bonifacio, one of Corsica's most dramatically positioned and striking towns. Teetering perilously on a high cliff above the sea, it offers sublime views over to Sardinia and a great selection of restaurants and bars.
Pool heating is available on request (additional charge will apply)
