About this property
Ireland's most spectacular view at ultra-luxury glass villa with deluxe hot tub.
Welcome to Brandy & Soda House!
You step through a shiplap sliding door and gasp - wow. Through 30 metres of floor-to-ceiling glass, you’re met with an uninterrupted panorama of Dog's Bay’s renowned tombola beaches. Whether the sun is lighting up the horseshoe of white sand and turquoise waters - or a raging Atlantic storm plays out before your eyes - this stunning home lays strong claim to having Ireland’s most spectacular view.
Inside, relaxing on a massage recliner, you’re immersed in the weather patterns from a position of complete luxury. Newly finished to exacting standards, extra care has gone into every detail, to make you feel utterly relaxed.
After a day exploring Connemara’s wild mountains, you might rustle up dinner on the Bora hob in the state-of-the-art German kitchen. Then curl up on the generous corner sofa, wrapped around a creamy Bath stone fireplace, and watch a movie on the 75-inch screen with flames flickering.
Beyond the open-plan kitchen and living space, two symmetrical master suites await you – perfect for couples holidaying together. Relax in the seclusion of your own wing in a super king bed, with 6 metre-high walls of glass providing wraparound sea views. Take a soak in your ensuite, savouring the most special view you’ll ever experience from a bathtub.
Friendly donkeys and cows will be your only neighbours in your private oasis. But you can also experience the world-famous fun of Irish “craic” in cheerful pubs brimming with traditional live music and good times. Indeed, it is suggested that the local passageway was once known as the “Brandy & Soda” road after the travelers to these pubs, who would escape the exhilarating sea air to warm their bones with a tipple.
When you’re ready to retire, throw open the sliding doors and fall asleep to the sound of gentle waves lapping on the islands. But first, there’s one thing you must do: follow a trail of glowing stepping stones to your deluxe hot tub overlooking the moonlit beaches. And over something chilled – perhaps a brandy and soda, why not? – toast "slàinte” to another day of laughter and relaxation tomorrow.
ACCOMMODATION
Brandy & Soda House is a perfect base for couples or families, with five star accommodation for up to 12 adults (plus 2 children). Children are warmly welcome and the house is fully set up to make bringing the whole family as easy as possible. Furry friends are of course invited too (how could they not be in “Dog's” Bay?). The local beaches are a dog-friendly paradise, and comfy baskets are provided for them to sink into after a long walk.
OUT AND ABOUT
If you manage to pull yourselves away from your sanctuary, your personal concierge can organise a range of activities. Hike in Connemara’s unspoiled national park, kayak in Killary Fjord, cycle the dazzling Sky Road, or practise your putting at one of the world’s most scenic (and challenging!) links courses.
If all this activity generates an appetite, head to the scenic town of Clifden (25 minutes’ drive away) for fine-dining restaurants and gastropubs serving the freshest local produce. Or visit Roundstone (5 minutes’ drive away) to share a creamy Guinness at this colourful village's friendly gathering spot. Known fondly to locals as “the wall”, this is the place for some great chat while looking out across the harbour to the beautiful Twelve Bens.
