Poderino il Sole - Alloro Room

Furnished in relaxing shades of blue, the Alloro Room offers beautiful views over our Garden of the Columns, the Tuscan hills and, on clear days, as far as the Appennines and the Apuan Alps.

Located on the first floor of the main farmhouse, the room is spacious and comfortable, featuring high traditional ceilings with exposed wooden beams and terracotta tiles, combined with a lighter, more modern floor that enhances the brightness of the space.

It is furnished with a comfortable king-size double bed and includes a wardrobe, a writing desk, and a recently renovated private bathroom with a large walk-in shower, bidet, plastic-free natural organic Tuscan toiletries, and a hairdryer.

To encourage an experience of true peace and connection with nature, at Poderino il Sole we have chosen not to install TVs anywhere on the property; however, an excellent Wi-Fi connection is available both inside the accommodations and in the outdoor areas of the farmhouse.

Breakfast is included in the price, homemade and served as a buffet on the panoramic terrace during the warmer months. Air conditioning in the room, mosquito screen on the window, high-quality linens, cleaning service and linen change every three days are also included.

Within the same apartment, guests also have access to shared spaces: a spacious living room with a shared refrigerator and a tea and coffee corner.

For stays of multiple nights, in line with our commitment to sustainability, room cleaning and linen changes are provided every 3 nights.

Small and medium-sized pets are allowed in certain rooms (maximum 1) for a surcharge.

Poderino il Sole is a peaceful retreat nestled in the green Tuscan hills, not far from Volterra. A carefully restored 18th-century farmhouse welcomes you among fields, rolling hills and endless skies. Here, nature flows in through the windows, silence restores the soul, and every sunset is a quiet surprise.

From our location, you can explore authentic hill towns, art cities, thermal spas and beaches, or simply choose to relax by the pool, enjoying the surrounding landscape.

Outside the farmhouse, guests can enjoy a wide selection of shared outdoor areas: a beautiful swimming pool with sun loungers and shaded spots; a panoramic terrace, perfect for snacks or aperitifs at sunset; the Garden of the Columns with a small table and sofa; the “Volterra” gazebo; and the olive grove above the former barn. Wherever you look, the views are truly spectacular.

Free private parking is available, as well as an electric car charging station (available to guests for an additional fee).

Poderino il Sole, which offers 7 B&B rooms and 2 holiday homes, sits on top of a hill in a secluded, quiet setting with 360-degree views. Lajatico, the nearest village where all essential services can be found, is 6 km away. Restaurants, wineries and shops are located within a 7–14 km radius, therefore a car is necessary to get around.

Breakfast

Every morning I personally prepare homemade breakfasts, mainly Italian-style, featuring cakes, tarts, jams and yogurt made by me, along with fresh fruit, muesli, bread and butter. Occasionally, I also offer pancakes or porridge. Upon request, a savory option is available, including cured ham, cheeses and hard-boiled eggs.

During the warmer months, breakfast is served on the panoramic terrace beside the pool — the perfect way to start the day while enjoying an unforgettable view.

About Us

My husband Francesco and I live here all year round, on the ground floor of the farmhouse, together with our two dogs, Luna and Ombra, and our cat Macchia. We will personally welcome you with a smile and are present most of the time, always happy to assist you should you need anything.
