The open-plan living area is furnished with a sofa, flat-screen TV and a dining table for 4. The room has glass doors that lead out to the private balcony where guests can enjoy the panoramic sea views.

Sleeping
The master bedroom is full of light, thanks to the glass doors that lead out to another balcony overlooking the sea. It is furnished with a king-sized double bed, wardrobe and a laptop-friendly workspace.
Extra: The sofa in the main living area converts into a comfortable double bed.

Location
The apartment is close to Shkallnur, to the south of Durres, about 20 minutes from the town’s historic centre. The town is home to the largest Roman amphitheatre (20 minutes) in the Balkans, as well as the ruins of a Byzantine forum. The 4th-century Venetian Tower, on the seafront, is now a restaurant and is the perfect place to watch the sunset over the Adriatic Sea. Durres gets lively at weekends and is known for its vibrant nightlife. Durres Summer Fest every June features international DJ’s and live performances.

Tirana is a 1-hour drive and makes a great day trip. It is an eclectic mix of Ottoman, Soviet and Fascist architecture. The city is easy to explore on foot. Blloku is an exciting, young area, full of cafés and interesting boutiques. The main square – Skanderbeg Square is a must-see. The city’s markets offer a window onto everyday life. The New Market, Pazari Ri offers a wide range of local produce.

For self-catering there are several supermarkets within 20 minutes of the apartment. The town’s covered market, Grand Market (20 minutes), is the best place to pick up fresh local produce to try at home. Visit the Abaia Winery and Vineyard (15 minutes) to sample delicious wines and buy directly from the producers.

Tirana International Airport is just a 45-minute drive from the apartment. If you are arriving in Albania by car, the ferries from Ancona and Bari both go directly to Durres Port (20 minutes).
