This lovingly renovated single-storey brick barn on the East Norfolk Coast was built in the 1920s and was used to rear cattle. The original beams remain and are a stunning feature in this light and bright, tastefully furnished barn. The spacious sitting room has plenty of comfortable seating and a modern wood burner, perfect for cosying up in front of after a blustery walk along the nearby coastal path.
As you enter the barn, you’ll find the sitting room with plenty of comfortable seating, a Smart TV, a DVD and Blu-ray Player, an iPod dock, a wood burner and French doors to the front and rear gardens. There’s plenty of space to whip up a culinary delight and dine with your friends or family in the open-plan kitchen/dining area, which benefits from the late afternoon sun through the French doors out to the patio. Both bedrooms boast French doors out onto the lawned front garden where you can enjoy a morning cuppa in the sunshine; what a way to start your day! Bedroom one is a king-size with an en-suite shower room, and bedroom two is a zip-and-link twin which can be converted into a super-king-size upon request. There is also a separate bathroom. The outside space offers wonderful views across the open countryside and is the ideal spot for alfresco dining or watching the sun go down with a glass in hand. There’s a large garden to the front of the barn and a fully enclosed patio with a small area of grass to the rear of the property with a table and chairs for four.
East Ruston village sits between the east coast and the Broads National Park. The village is home to the celebrated East Ruston Vicarage Gardens with its huge variety of planting and excellent tea shop. The village has beautiful surrounding countryside with quiet lanes which are ideal for walking and cycling. There are footpaths leading directly from the barn for long walks (or short!) and the Norfolk Coast Path and 100-mile Norfolk Coast Cycleway are very close by. The capital of the Broads – Wroxham is 5 miles away and Stalham Staithe is 3 miles; hire a day boat or walk along the banks looking out for the many species of birds. You’re in the perfect spot for visiting the local beaches too. The nearest are Happisburgh (3 miles), Waxham and Sea Palling (both 7 miles), all of which are dog friendly. A visit to nearby Horsey (11 miles) to see the seals is something you should definitely make time for.
