About this property
2 Bed in Peasenhall (oc-sfrsc)
This beautiful period cottage in the peaceful rural village of Peasenhall is ideal for couples looking for a quiet holiday in the countryside in Suffolk while still being close to the coastal attractions. From the property, you can walk to see the ruins of nearby Sibton Abbey (less than a mile away). Take a stroll along the River Yox or head out to explore some of the routes through the surrounding countryside.
Dating back to Tudor times, this timber framed property, set over two levels, is full of character. As you enter you will notice the striking period features including beamed ceilings, an inglenook fireplace and beautiful traditional Suffolk brick flooring. All this history has been elegantly fused with contemporary comforts to ensure a wonderful stay. The charming open-plan living area is a sociable space for dining or simply chilling together and watching TV. A wood burner ensures you stay cosy all year round. The kitchen has all you need to make meal preparation a cinch. A bathroom completes the downstairs features. Take the cottage-style stairs with a rope leading from the lounge to the upstairs, where you will find a double and a single bedroom. Outside is a beautiful south-facing garden with an unfenced, shallow pond and sitting areas to enjoy the views.
The beaches at Aldeburgh and Southwold are less than 15 miles away and offer the opportunity to enjoy a traditional seaside experience and explore the galleries, independent shops and eateries - we recommend trying the local fish and chips! History buffs will love a visit to the village of Woodbridge to see the fascinating Woodbridge Tide Mill Museum. Nature lovers can explore woodlands and forests at Captain’s Wood (14 miles) and Rendlesham Forest (16 miles), where you can also cycle.
