About this property

3 Bed in Askrigg (oc-ds958)

Take a break to this rustic retreat in the Dales with friends and family and enjoy sunny days in the delightful garden. Just 5 miles away is the beautiful Aysgarth Falls, a three-stepped waterfall with a whimsical 7-mile circular walk with plenty of birdlife and wildlife to see along the way.

At the heart of the living room is a cosy corner sofa with a footstool making for the ultimate movie night setting. The wood burner adds to the ambience, particularly during the cold winter months of the year. For peace and quiet, guests can head to the snug to relax on the L-shaped sofa with a book in hand or a film on the TV. The kitchen/diner is a fantastic social space within the property with an oak table in the centre for breakfast, lunch and dinners spent together surrounded by the pretty kitchen fittings. Completing the ground floor is a shower room and a utility room for convenience. Take the staircase to the first floor and you’ll find the dual-aspect bedroom boasting beautiful views out of the windows and a comfortable king-size bed and a countryside style. Next door is the second king-size room, which can be made up as a double upon request which benefits from an en-suite shower room. Bedroom three is a playful space with two single beds, perfect for younger guests. After a day of exploring, the slipper bath and twin shower offer an idyllic space to unwind before heading to bed. Outside is a pretty cottage garden with a pagoda and seating for meals enjoyed outside.

Less than a mile outside of the village of Askrigg is Mill Gill Force waterfall, accessible through a scenic woodland route, and half a mile further is Whitfield Gill which joins up to a lovely circular walk back to Askrigg. Hawes (5 miles) is a magical market town with plenty of charm, independent shops and eateries to explore. Spend a day at the Wensleydale Creamery (6 miles) and learn all about the process of making their fine cheese, take part in the tasting experience and indulge in fine foods at the on-site cafe and restaurant.
