About this property
3 Bed in Maudlam (oc-i32375)
This family-friendly Welsh cottage, with sweeping views over the Bristol Channel and the stunning Kenfig Dunes, is the perfect base for families or friends keen to explore the best of the South Wales coast and countryside. Just 150 metres away is a public footpath leading you on a picturesque 3-mile walk to the beach via the stunning Kenfig National Nature Reserve. For classic seaside charm, head to Porthcawl (4 miles) with its bustling promenade, or try your hand at surfing and windsurfing at Rest Bay (4 miles). Adventure lovers will enjoy Margam Park’s action-packed centre (3.5 miles), offering everything from SUP yoga to axe throwing, while mountain bikers can hit the trails at Afan Forest Park. For a slower pace, Bryngarw Country Park (10 miles) contains tranquil woodland trails. You’re also within easy reach of Swansea Bay (14.5 miles), and the scenic shores of Mumbles and the Gower Peninsula (20 miles), too.
Head through the front door of this inviting property and be welcomed by a charming living room complete with velvet sofas arranged around a roaring wood burner and Smart TV – everything needed for cosy movie nights together. When stomachs begin to rumble, walk through to the well-appointed kitchen where you’ll find everything needed, including a breakfast bar for light meals, to cook up and enjoy Welsh holiday feasts. Enjoy more formal mealtimes around in the diner/snug or dine alfresco-style out on the patio. At the end of each busy day away, head up the cottage stairs to the first floor and choose from three restful bedrooms – two double rooms and a cosy single – served by a well-equipped family shower room.
Outside, you can look forward to sunny mornings in the back garden, with its lawn and furnished patio overlooking the neighbouring Anglican church. Parking is on-street and subject to availability.
