The chalet is lovely on arrival - set out brilliantly and I must say looks better than the photos! The beds were really comfy and I felt very at home. The location is great for the beach and the whole park felt peaceful and relaxing.
A wonderful stay in Ty Bae House. The chalet had everything that we needed, weather was amazing so lots of fantastic beach time. We hope to be back soon.
Have been going to this cabin for a few years, it is a great location to stay. The cabin is ideal, clean and everything you need for an enjoyable stay, although this time the weather wasn't great to say the least, but didn't dampen our spirits !!!!
We love caswell and enjoyed our stay at the chalet was cute i couldn't get hot water in the kitchen but wasn't a problem kettle worked fine

Hi Jane, glad you had a good time. Did you switch the heater on for the kitchen sink? By the microwave, with a label on and details were in the welcome book. You'll know for next time !
Ty Bae is a very homely and well equipped chalet in the quiet, wooded valley leading down to Caswell Bay, convenient for the Gower's beaches and Mumbles Bay just up the road. Very helpful host: useful information packed with lots of local information.

Nice stay
The property is in a good location.
It is a bit dated.
The kitchen would really benefit from a bit of tlc and some chopping boards.

Hi Julia,
Thanks for your comments.
We constantly update worn or outdated items but aim for a rustic sea side shabby look.
There are two glass chopping boards in the kitchen - in Covid times they are easier than wood to keep germ free.
We really found the chalet to be very comfortable generally. Kitchen well appointed too. The shower fixture was not very good so the showerhead flopped and had to be used by hand, but im dure this can be fixed. We will definitely book again in the future.

Hi Elizabeth, thanks for your feedback. We're glad you had a good time. Wish you'd told us about the showerhead problem as we'd have popped in and fixed it. Always around if there's a problem. Look forward to having you stay in the not too distant future.
Just returned from 3 nights at Ty Bae House with my daughter and dog.Jackie's communication was welcoming and we had all the information we needed.Amazing location for nipping down to the beach and cafe (v short walk). Nice, quiet chalet park which (I expect) has more of a buzz in summer. A couple of stunning walks on the doorstep too. Handy for Mumbles by car. Kitchen was well stocked with pans, utensils and the basics to cook a proper meal.Cozy living area and comfy single beds too. Layers needed at night as its October and it's getting a little chillier.A fab first visit to the area, can't believe it's taken me 50 years to discover! Will definitely be coming back. Thank you.
Property was in an ideal place 10 minutes from mumbles in the car
Chalet was ok but not clean
Dogs hairs all over the furniture wen we got there
Bathroom was filthy hairs +++ in the shower plug

Sarah brought a dog with her- first dog in the chalet since early summer as we don’t accept them in high season. So I can only assume the pet hairs were from her own dog. The chalet had been professionally cleaned and I checked it afterwards and it looked lovely. Bedrooms were beautifully presented and there were little extras- tea, coffee etc left as well. I had been helpful during the booking process as Sarah was bringing an elderly relative and so I wanted to make sure all was in order. Disappointed by this review and not a little upset!
With Caswell Bay a stones throw from the chalet; you cannot go wrong with this chalet!
A really cosy, clean and comfortable place to stay - we were not in need of anything!
Perfectly located for cliff and beach walking - a 5 minute drive into the fabulous Mumbles with a huge array of restaurants and cafes etc - and 20 minute drive to Rhossili/Gower which is always incredible to visit.
Our only moan was that after a long journey, on arrival we couldn't access the keys to the chalet. However, various local chalet residents came to our rescue and helped us to eventually get in. That's another thing - The Welsh are the friendliest folk you'll ever meet!

So glad you enjoyed your stay Emma. So sorry that the key safe was a bit stcky with salt spray and wouldn't open, a squirt of WD40 has sorted this. Mentioning this so people don't panic and think that there are no keys left for them !
We loved our stay at the chalet! It had everything we needed, was clean and comfortable. The 3 minute walk meant our small dogs (and us!) could have fun on the beach easily. The walk along the coastal path to Langland has stunning views (we even saw seals) and a great place to eat when you arrive. Jackie was really helpful in helping us to decide which chalet to pick and her communication was excellent. We’ll definitely be heading back!
Perfect location and short walk to Caswell Bay. The chalet is comfortable with a well stocked kitchen if you prefer to eat in. Communication and response with the owner Jackie os always spot on

About the host

Hi. We love to be as helpful as we can to our guests but please note the following: 3 day minimum stay except in July and August when there is a 7 day minimum hire. During this high season, we'd rather you didn't bring your dog as they cannot be left unsupervised in the chalets and there is a dog ban on the beach. Summers are for kids and the beach!
Why they chose this property
Our chalets are in a small select chalet park on the edge of the glorious Caswell bay where there is a huge stretch of golden sand when the tide is out. Rock climbing & rock pools, sand building and sea paddling for children, surfing, paddle boarding and swimming for older children and adults. When the weather is good there's nowhere better to spend your days. Toilet facilities, cafes, beach toys are available. Dog bam May - Sept.
